Bakunawa- Known as a moon eating dragon or serpent. It was believed that it would cause eclipses and the only way to stop it from eating the moon was to create loud noises such as banging pots and shouting. In which it will let the moon go. It differs on how it came to be who it is now. Some say it is a boy who fell in love with a girl but the family did not approve the Bakunawa. Others say it was a goddess but liked things beautiful. It saw the moon and wanted to take it to make herself beautiful. It was also said that the Bakunawa takes the moon to avenge his/her sister which was a sea turtle that was killed by locals.

Minokawa- It was described as giant dragon like bird that would swallow or cover the sun. It was said that he would swallow the moon but then decided to swallow the sun instead. Until it had swallow both the sun and moon, it would go to earth and eat people after. Now it wanders to try to get both the moon and sun.

Siyokoy- Among all of the creatures of the water, they are described to have animalistic forms and structures. They are described in appearance to have fish like bodies. They are similar to sirena which the would drown their victims and eat them. But the Siyokoy are male sea monsters.

Sirena- They are just like any typical mermaid but called Sirena in the Philippines. They drown their victims and eat them. They are paired with the Siyokoy, the male counterpart of them. They also a male version for them, Sireno.

White Lady- This a ghost rumor that is originates in Manila. It is said that when driving in Balete Drive, you should never pick-up a passenger in the middle of the night. A story goes that a driver picked up a girl wearing a white dress. He couldn't see the face due to the hair covering her face. He tried talking to the girl but didn't answer him. He turned to see that the dress was covered in blood. And when he looked at his window, he saw her head upside with blood on her face. There are different sayings of how it ended. Some say that he died under mysterious circumstances. Others say he went to the priest to cleanse himself from the spirit. How she came to be is different from telling to telling. The most popular one is that she took a ride and was attacked and killed. She is a spirit who haunts the road of Balete.

Tiyanak- They are described to be infants with the looks of monsters or demons. The transform to helpless babies crying until a Good Samaritan brings the baby home. It is then they transform to their true form and kill that person for food. They became like that either three reasons. One is that they died before being baptized and returning back to the human realm to eat unexpected people. The second is that they were born from a human mother and demon father. The last one is that they were left alone which they died and looked for those who left it there to die.

Nuno Sa Puno- They are duwendes. Elf or dwarf like creatures. There homes are like ant hills or termites hills. If stepped on by accident or on purpose. They will curse you until you offer food to it. And they will lift you from the curse. When passing by, you must say "Tabi Tabi po." As a greeting or something friendly(I forgot the meaning but that's all I could remember)

Sarangay- Described to be half Carabao(Water Buffalo) and half man. It is similar to the Minotaur. The Sarangay are said to have jewels attached to both their ears. They guard jewelries or treasures. They kill thieves without mercy. When angry, it is said that they produce smoke on their nostrils.

Tikbalang- They are half horse and half man. Not like your typical centaurs, these have the the head and the legs of a horse and the rest are male. They live in mountainous forest. Which they confuse lost travelers. They will also hunt them if hungry. There are ways to stop it, by plucking three golden hair from its mane (If that's how you spell it). Once plucking all three, then you control the Tikbalang. Another thing about them is that they would impregnated women to give birth to more Tikbalang.

Bungisngis- Described as a cyclops with tusks like an elephant on the side of its mouth. The meaning of its name means "Giggling ".

Kapre- It is a giant to live in a tree. The are invisible from the belt they wore. They smoke and drink. Leaving trash. The cigar burns eternally. They are described to be hairy (Sorry that I forgot to draw that idea). The only way to see them is to sit on their lap.

Manananggal- "Tanggal" which means to separate is where they get their name from. They are normal human beings, specifically women. But are different at night, as they show their true form. As they separate their lower halves, as they leave their lower torso in fields. Wings sprout from their back, their intestines hanging from the upper torso. They feed on unborn babies and fetuses with their long tongues to suck the baby out. The only way to kill them is to put salt on their lower torso. And they can't connect to each other and die from the sun. It is said that if the woman swallowed a black chick and they become a Manananggal. They have to spit it out or vomit it.

Wak-wak -These creatures are part of the Aswangs. They are black birds, just normal birds until they hunt. Similar to the Manananggal, they eat unborn babies and fetuses. They fly to windows and use their long tongues to suck the fetuses from the mother.

Aswang- These are the Shapeshifters in Filipino Mythology. They look like human beings in the day and monsters in the night. They can take forms of black dogs, black cats, birds with long tongues, werewolves, women who can separate their torsos, and their human like features but sharp teeth and dull looking eyes.

Witches- These witches can be good or bad. It can depend what they do us. Sometimes they can bring good luck to a person or they can bring bad luck. They preform curses, voodoo, and they can control bugs and let them chase the person who they've cursed.

These are the types of Filipino mythological creatures that are in the Philippines. The witches do exist here but more of healing types than the ones that curse you. Also, a series that is popular in the Philippines is going. I love that show, it's called Trese.
