Luna turned to leave out of the office. The space felt way smaller then what it was, making her temporarily claustrophobic as reality set in.  She couldn't believe this was really happening. Honestly after being with Alma-May for the past year, she had thought that would be the last place she would call home before hitting Eight-Teen.  Though she knew deep down it was for the best but it didn't make leaving the place she finally half way considered home any easier.

Tunnel vison set in as she walked down what seemed to be never ending warped hall way. It was like the world was spinning off its axis around her. She could almost hear the laughter of the children from the stock photos on the walls mocking her. The deafening sound of her own heart beat made her head dizzy. Her hands found there way to both sides of her temple , trying to block out the sound. She watched as the world spun around her, a flash of white struck her eyesight and then the world went black...

Cold. Wet. Empty. And...Thick... These were all things she felt surrounding her. Her limbs feeling trapped by to cold dark weighted air around her. Trying to swim through the blackness, though there was no surface to rise to. She was trapped, yet for some reason the struggle almost felt...peaceful.. Something she hadn't felt in years...

"Oh dear sweet child, there if so much you have yet to learn...Follow what you feel on the inside  and never trust the living. You are finally ready Luna...Be good and be Safe..." A disembodied voice bellowed through the darkness like a whisper from a long lost friend she never had.

"You are the prophecy they have all been waiting for child, go now before you can never escape this place." The voice urged her, sounding panicked. she her self could not make a sound, swimming in her pool of utter confusion from the whispers words.

It wasn't until a moment later her amber eyes fluttered open. Dilating in, she was blinded by the panel lighting above her, until a shadow cast it out. Her head was pounding, her eyes focused in on Mr. Graves and Loraine sitting on either side of her. Worried expressions filling their faces.

"You gave us quite a scare there, Luna. I have never seen you like this before. Should I call an ambulance?" Loraine's soft worrisome motherly voice echoed in her already pounding head.  She looked to the blonde woman to her right. she was checking her pulse with her fingers pressed into Luna's wrist.  Luna shook her head, She hated hospitals.

"Pauvre Ti Bête, here ya go, this should 'elp them there 'ead spins a lil bit." Mr. Graves spoke as softly as his graveled voice would allow. He handed her a small chocolate bar he had gotten from Loraine's candy jar. She unwrapped the small bar and plopped it in her mouth, letting the sugar dissolve on her tongue. That was one of the downsides of not eating as much as she should, but she never expected this to happen. Stress and hunger were two battling enemies that always spelled trouble.

She couldn't help but to be haunted by the disembodied voice from her black-out.

What could it have possibly meant,  she was the Prophecy... It was absurd.  She was just a fucked up kid trying to get her life together.

Mr. Graves hooked an arm under her shoulders as Loraine grabbed her by the elbow helping her up off the ground. Luna stood up slowly, letting the blood slowly rush back to her body as the headache didn't seem to subside. Mr. Graves peered at her with a look of concern on his face, "Girl, I think we should get you on home. I'll call the doc out to check on ya and make sure you're doin alright." He spoke still in a quiet tone as he could see the pained look on her face.

She nodded the best she could, knowing a fall like that could lead to a concussion. But be damned if she stepped foot inside another hospital at her own will. Mr. Graves hooked his arm around hers and lead her through the swiveling door leading out off the office. Loraine's eyes never left the two of them in fear something else might happen.

As soon as they reached the outside of the door a shrilling squeak filled the quiet office from the teddy bear that now lay smashed under his boot. Luna let out a slight giggle. Being disoriented from the pain in her head shed gone almost delusional. He looked at her confused but Loraine knew this was one of the girls coping mechanisms for pain. Just as they were about to leave Loraine stopped Mr. Graves. Luna headed out the heavy glass door and leaned against the brick wall out front, waiting.

"Get her on home and make sure Doctor Landry takes a good look at her, she's only like this  when she's in serious pain. She will never tell you until she hits her breaking point." Loraine spoked to him in her stern motherly tone, she was fond of the girl herself but never had the means to take her in.

"I assure ya, Landry will make sure she 'as the best care or I'll make sure ole Boris don't go hun'ry T'nite." He assured the woman and with the tip of a hat, he walked out in to the harsh Louisianan heat.  The heat made nothing better for the poor girl and he knew it.

Luna sat as the heat ate through her small hungry frame, making her head spin even worse. Mr. Graves took her by the arm again and lead her to his beat up black 4 door Jeep. The thing had defiantly seen better days but she was his pride a joy. He opened the door for her and helped her up into the passengers side and hoping in himself. Luna rested her head against the the warm window and closed her eyes, drifting off into a sleepy haze.

The sounds of the engine broke through the cabin like a soft lullaby as they headed off into the unknown.. Here's to a new beginning.
