Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, almost all schools have taken to online learning. Many of us, including myself, have taken to the internet as a source of connection. This huge exposure to the internet has it's advantages and disadvantages.

Though this is a great way to work or learn even at a distance, or connecting with friends at the other side of the world, or making amazing friends like I have on Wattpad; it has come with many cons.

One of the major threats of the internet, is cyber-crimes. Cyber-crimes have ramped up during the pandemic; threatening many adults and children.

Cyber-bullying is something that has been going on too. I have heard of one of the Wattpad users, being negatively commented by another. The person being bullied, was in fact a nice person; the user was a writer here on Wattpad. People were quick to get mad at the bully and report his account. Now the bully's account doesn't exist anymore.

Now, you might have already guessed what Cyber-bullying is. A straight forward and easy to understand definition is: the use of electronic communication to bully a person.

Why is Cyber-bullying hard to find, or the bullies hard to capture?
As we all know, the internet is an ocean of information, users, illegal stuff and much more. Anything you can imagine of, you can see it on the internet.

Many getting bullied, just hide it. They either neglect it, or just don't tell anyone. Many can be small such as harsh comments, or negativity to another. But at times, many of these bullying can turn into threats; thus scaring the person (mostly teens and kids). Cyber-bullying has resulted in problems such as mental abuse, depression, and even online trafficking.

Now what if the bullying is reported?
In many cases, the bully has been found. But as I mentioned previously, it is an ocean out there. Certain platforms let the person be anonymous, and thus conceal their identity. Experts, can capture them, but at times not. Some people go to a far extend; they use the computer techniques to their advantage. Many of them try so hard, that they fall under the category of the dark web.

The dark web, is extremely scary. From cyber-crimes, to inhuman videos and acts and practices; this can be traumatising for many. The part of the World Wide Web that is only accessible by means of special software, allowing users and website operators to remain anonymous or untraceable, is the Dark Web.

Most people in the Dark Web are hard to catch due to the above reason. Though it can be used by the police, and cyber police, to find out criminals, it is dangerous for many others.

Now what to do if you are being cyber-bullied?
I would recommend talking to an adult you trust, like your parents. They will surely help you; worried for your safety. Or visit https://www.childhelplineinternational.org  to find help in your country.

Just know that you shouldn't completely trust someone you see online. Do background checks, and if they seem fishy, just block them. Even better way, is to not share to much personal info online.

You're Beautiful! You're Awesome! Smile To the Bullies!

If anyone threatens you online, remember; tell to your parents. No matter what the bully says; do what you think is right. Don't trust the person. They might threaten to kill, but be brave and go against them.

You can ignore their texts; show them to your parents. There are people for you. You're never alone.

You are Brave! You are Worth It! Don't Let Anyone Get You Down!
