At a small cabin in the mountains, during the morning. Tanjiro Kamado takes up a basket of charcoal on his back and is preparing to leave the mountain for the day.
"Tanjiro!" says a woman who is Tanjiro's mother.
Her name is Kie.
Tanjiro turns towards his mother.
"Your face is covered in soot. Come over here."
She says this as she wipes his face with a towel.
"It's dangerous with all this snow. You don't have to go, you know. Take Kururugi with you!" says Tanjiro's mother.
I can hear all of this shortly before exiting the house.
My name is Kururugi Kaname.
I am 15 years old.
I came to this world some time ago and was taken in by Tanjuro Kamado and his wife Kie.
They were very nice and let me take care of the younger children.
I am an eternally young woman, who never noticeably ages beyond the age of 15.
I have demon blood flowing through my veins.
A long time ago, during the end of the Bakumatsu period and the start of Meiji, there existed an existence known as Tsukimi Yukimura.
She was born to the Yukimura clan.
The Yukimura clan was a powerful clan of pure-demons.
The other clan being the Kazuma clan.
Tsukimi's abilities included crystal clear clarity, high-speed regeneration, enhanced strength, enhanced speed, and shielded mind.
She married Toshizo Hijikata.
I came from a future somewhere around the early 2000s.
I was born with the Yukimura demon blood.
I had all of the abilities pass down from Tsukimi to me.
I could pass as a human during a scrutiny check.
A demon would only detect another demon.
I do not recall how I got to this world.
I was talking to my sister Nezuko before I left the house to listen to the conversation taking place outside.
"Well, I want everyone to eat their fill on New Year's, so I'm gonna sell as much charcoal as I can. Also, Nezuko would be way more ideal if I want to get back faster!" says Tanjiro to his mother Kie.
"Thank you."
This is said by the mother of all of the Kamado children.
"Big bro! Sister!" says a younger brother as he runs up to the slowly growing group.
He is running with his sister.
Tanjiro's younger brother and sister, Shigeru and Hanako, come running to Tanjiro. Another brother, Takeo comes out from behind them.
"You're going to town again today?" asks Shigeru.
"I'm going with you!" says Hanako.
"Oh no, you're not. You know you can't walk fast like Tanjiro or Nezuko. Not even Kururugi!" says the mother to her children.
"Mom!" says Shigeru.
"Absolutely not! Since they can't use the cart today, they won't be able to give you a ride when you're tired. That is if Nezuko is even going! She has the littlest to take care of!" says the mother.
"Big bro!" says Shigeru while clinging onto Tanjiro.
"I wanna go with you! I promise I'll help you!" says Hanako.
Tanjiro pats Hanako on the head.
"Thanks, Hanako. But you're staying home today. You can stay with Kururugi!" says Tanjiro to Hanako.
"What?" says Hanako.
"You too, Shigeru. But I'll get you lots of goodies!" says Tanjiro to Shigeru.
"Really?" asks Shigeru.
"Yeah. And Hanako, I'll read to you when I get back!" says Tanjiro.
"Yeah!" says Hanako.
"That's a good girl!" says Tanjiro.
I walk over to the group.
I am wearing a light pink kimono similar to that of Nezuko.
My hair is blonde and my eyes are blue.
"Kururugi take care of the family while we're gone!" says Tanjiro.
I say; "Okay!" while smiling cheerfully.
"Thank you!" says Kie.
"Sure. Okay, I'll be heading out now. Takeo, will you chop as much wood as you can?" says Tanjiro as Nezuko walks out of the house.
"Sure, I'll do it, but... I was hoping we could do it together."
This is said by Takeo.
Tanjiro walks over to Takeo and pats his head.
"There, there."
This is said by Tanjiro as Takeo jumps away.
"What's with that all of a sudden?" asks Takeo.
"Aw. You're blushing!" says Tanjiro to Takeo.
Takeo is indeed blushing.
"You. Shut up!" says Takeo to Tanjiro.
"There, there."
This is said by Tanjiro as he continues to pat Takeo's head.
"I said cut it out!" says Takeo to Tanjiro.
"Kururugi, please take Rokuta from me!" says Nezuko holding a baby out for me to gently hold.
All of the family and I laugh as Tanjiro and Nezuko head off to town.
"Hurry back, okay?" says Shigeru.
"Be safe, okay?" says Hanako.
Nezuko and Tanjiro safety leave with no more incidents.
