The Truth

"Really? A one-time thing?" Bucky asks.

"Yes." You say as his eyes pierce your soul, "Mayb- No! Your blue eyes aren't fooling me! ONE TIME THING!!!!" You shout before scanning down the bed to his legs and how the blanket is covering just enough.

You limp out of his room with your shoes hooked on your fingers. Steve walks down the hall.

"Y/n!" He says as he walks closer to you and sees you're limping, "Are you okay?"

"Uh, yeah! I'm fine, I just- I sprained my ankle while I was on Asgard." You lie.

"You're a terrible liar. What's the truth?" He asks.

"That was the truth. I'm not lying-" 

But then, Steve goes into Bucky's room.

"Oh my god!" He immediately walks back out with his eyes covered, "What. The. Hell." He says.

"Ehehe, yeah, um, I can explain-"

"For the life of me don't." Steve cuts you off, "I know what happened. I don't want to know more,"

"W-what do you think happened?" You stutter, scared he knows.

"Bucky stripped as you left," Steve tells you.

"Y-yes. That's exactly what happened." You lie.

Bucky bursts out of the room, "Steve! I can-"

You cut him off, "No! He knows what happened!"

You look at him with a death stare.

"Right, yeah. That's what happened." Bucky lies.

"I'm leaving now," Steve tells you.

"Alright!" You agree, a little too enthusiastically.

Steve gets down the hall and turns the corner. Bucky pushes you against the wall.

"Okay, what does he think happened?" He asks.

"He thinks I left and you stripped." You explain, "And as far as I'm concerned, that's exactly what happened." You say through a threatening tone.

"Were you serious about that, uh, being a one-time thing?" He asks.

"Yes, no, maybe, I don't know!" You say.

The alarms blare. You and Bucky run to the main room and see Steve.

"Alright, we have a mission for you two." Steve points at you and Bucky, "You will go and find the Tessaract."

"Where exactly are we going?" You ask.

"That's the thing, we can track the gamma radiation, and it's underwater, like in the ocean," Tony explains.

"Ocean?" You say in a high-pitched voice.

"What? Are you scared?" Bucky teases.

You smack the back of his head, "Yes, yes I am, actually." You glare.

"Oh, sorry," Bucky tells you.

"Yeah." You snap.

"Anyway, you and Bucky will go and find the Tessaract," Steve says, "You might end up needing code names. Just to be safe."

"Fine?" You say skeptically.

"You'll be 'The Blue Phoenix'." Bucky smiles.

You glare at him, "And you'll be 'The Winter Soldier." 

He looks taken back by you bringing up the Winter Soldier.

"Okay, you two can leave and kill each other later." Steve quickly says.

"Fine. Let's go." You push past Bucky, nudging his metal arm on the way past, hurting your arm but ignoring trying to seem tough.

"Just, don't kill my girlfriend, Buck. Please."  Steve says, trying to keep his voice down.

"I can still hear you. Also, don't tell him to go easy on me, I beat him the first time we met, I can do it again." You shout back to them.
