I am (y/n) Freyadottir, Goddess of the Arts, though I am particularly fond of storytelling. I am also associated with knowledge and runic magic.  Even though I am Vanvir and of Vanahiem I spent most of my time in Asgard, only returning to Vanvir when truly necessary. Because of my time spent on Asgard I grew close with the princes of Asgard, Thor, and Loki, as well as Lady Sif and the Warriors Three. But I grew to love Loki dearly. I suppose that shouldn't surprise me when my mother is quite literally the Goddess of Love.

"Loki," I called out to him, as he turned a corner.

He came back and looked at me with a smile, his emerald eyes shimmering under the sunlight cascading into the hallway. He took my hands lightly in his and asked, "What is it dear?"

I bit my lip, trying to steady my breathing. To close to sobbing, especially for a warrior, I thought to myself.  Loki's smile faded as he saw my state. "Darling?" He asked worriedly.

"My mother has sent for me. I'm to return to Vanaheim, but I think it should be for a long time. And she speaks of a possible arranged marriage if we can not make the alliance with elves properly. I- I-," I rambled, barely breathing.

Loki drew me to his chest and had begun stroking my hair lightly to calm me down. "When must you leave?" He asked softly.

"A week from tomorrow," I mumbled.

He released me from his grasp and smiled grimly at me. That was before he got his signature mischievous glint in his eye. "I have a plan," He said, grinning now.

"What might that be?" I said, wiping at my wet eyes with the heel of my hand.

"I can't tell you, not yet anyway. Meet me by the stables at six, okay?" He said still grinning.

"Is this a date, Odinson?" I said with a laugh.

He pondered my question, before replying, "I suppose it is." He was wearing a grin I had never seen on him before, not one of mischief or receiving praise, but one of unrelenting love. And I fell even harder than I thought possible.

As he bounded around the corner, I chuckled slightly and went off to find Lady Sif and tell her of the news, both dreadful and not.

I glanced down at my dress (above), pale blue and flowing, before approaching the stables

I glanced down at my dress (above), pale blue and flowing, before approaching the stables. "You look ravishing, (y/n)," Loki said, a smile dawning on his face. "It truly has been forever since I last saw you in a dress." He held out his arm and placed mine in his, and returned his smile. "Shall we?" He asked.

"We shall," I said.

He walked me over to where the stable boy was waiting. "Two horses?" The boy asked.

"One will do," Loki responded. "Thank you."

"One?" I asked.

"I figured it would be more romantic," he said with a grin.

"Of course it would," I said, mocking him only slightly. He chuckled lightly.

When the horse came out, Loki lifted me up to sit upon it, sidesaddle, before mounting it himself. "You do know that I am capable of mounting and riding a horse, correct?"

"Yes, darling, I know. But I am trying to be a gentleman," He said, as I laced my arms around his waist.

"I see," I said.

Loki dismounted the horse near a waterfall that we visited often. It had become our sanctuary away from Thor, Lady Sif, and the Warriors three. A sanctuary for our conversations.

"So what was your plan?" I asked as he helped me off of the horse.

"We'll get to that later, for now, let's eat," He said as he set a basket of food upon a blanket that had already been placed by the waterfalls flow.

We feasted on grapes, nuts, honey, lamb, and other Agardain delicacies as we talked with each other and joked around.

We were lying on our sides, facing each other, our stomachs well full. "Have you ever thought about why your godly title is what it is?" He asked his tone more somber, his eyes saddened.

"I suppose it's because my mother is the Goddess of Love, Passion, Beauty, War, and Death, and don't all pieces of Art derive from one of those things? Art is something to which I dedicate my life, whether it be in the stories I tell, or the battles I must fight. Life is poetic, and I suppose I must represent that view of life," I said softly. "Have you?"

"I have. My title doesn't surprise me, I am pretty mischievous," He said grinning now.

"That you are," I said, smirking.

We sat in silence, admiring each other and bathing in the rushing sound of the waterfall. He then stood himself up, taking me with him so that we stood looking at each other, his hands holding mine. "(Y/n)," he began, "Since the day I met you all those years ago, I have loved you. And never once have I stopped loving you, if anything my love has only grown stronger each day- no, each second I have known you. And if you would let me, I would like to spend each day with you for the rest of my life. So, (Y/n), darling, would you do me the honor of becoming my queen?" He kneeled (ehehehe) down on one knee, and looked up at me adoringly, a golden ring with an emerald in the center glittering in his hand.

"This was your plan to keep me out of an arranged marriage?" I asked softly, though I felt tears trickling down my cheeks. "It's not just to keep me out of an arranged marriage, is it?"

"No," He said lightly. "This was bound to happen, sooner or later." He smiled at me grimly, scared. "So what will it be?"

"Oh, of course, you oaf," I said falling to the ground beside him, wrapping my arms around his neck. "I love you, Loki."

"Oh thank Allfather, you scared me there," He said laughing and grinning like a mad man, before slipping the ring on my finger. He then pulled me into a kiss before pulling me back to my feet so that we could splash in the water and race around the field of flowers, grinning still madly.

"The God of Lies and the Goddess of Stories," I said, chuckling. "Oh what a pair we'll be."

Dear Mother,

I can not be of service to your alliance with the elves, as I am engaged. I would have told you this sooner, but it was a rather abrupt proposal, but still, one which I could not say no to. I hope you can forgive me. I intend to return to Vanaheim as scheduled but I think my time there will be much shorter than that intended, as my fiance likely will miss me dearly.

Love,

Your daughter, (Y/n)
