I glanced from the unknown man to my brother. Ryder's feature held truth but could I even count on him for that? He faked his death.
"It's the truth Miss Halo." the man reasoned. I just stared at him blankly, trying to figure this whole thing out. "Miss Halo you need to understand your current circumstances."
"But that's the thing I don't understand this- this- this!" i threw my hands in the air gesturing everything around me
"That's understandable. I need you to know that you can trust me, alright?"
"How can I trust someone I barely know... How can I trust someone who took me away from my family?" anger was beginning to boil inside of me.
"Then trust your brother." He said bluntly. "Yeah trust in me Lacey." Ryder smiled
"Yes be-" Sadly my sentence was cut short by Austin barging into the room
"We got trouble! Big trouble!" He managed to say as he run to his bedside table pulling out a gun. A gun?
"Miss Halo, Ryder-" The man's eyes darted between the both of us "We must go. Now. "
I watched as Austin threw a backpack over his shoulder before preparing his gun.
Was I gonna die? Baby Jesus please don't let me die a virgin. i silently prayed
"Lacey! Ryder! Now!" The man said running out of the room, Ryder following him. So i did too. Once we got out of the room I could hear splintering of the door being broken done and muffled voices.
"Don't hesitate to shoot them, men!" I cringed as I looked back at the figures, but of course they saw me. I was stuck in place as I was witnessing one of them pointing their gun straight at me. A shoot was fired but he was the one falling. I turned my head towards Austin. "You killed him!" i shouted
"It was either you or him!' he stressed, he pulled my hand and began running towards the back door
"George is down! Go after them! That way! Go! Go!"
Fresh air hit me face as we busted through the door. I saw my brother get into the car with the government guy. "Lacey, come on!" he urged as he held open the backseat door
"Lacey run!" Austin said. As he whirled around a bullet came straight for him shooting a couple rounds at the same time. My eyes widen as I saw him fall to the ground. But the man was still pushing me into the back of the car. "Austin!" i screamed. My scream was cut short with the slam of the door. To my surprise we weren't moving but Austin was being carried to the back seat. I pushed open the door just in time for Austin to be pushed in.
The government man got in the drivers side and sped off to God knows where. Austin was slumped next to me, turning to his direction all that caught my eye was the stream of blood rushing through his white t-shirt. "Ry-Ryder, there's a lot of blood..." i murmured
"Put pressure on his wound Miss Halo!" Ryder gave me his sweatshirt and i pressured his wound. He might have kidnapped me but he saved me. No one should die like this.
"Lacey, switch seats with me." Ryder whispered as he took over pressuring Austin's wound. I starred down at my blood stained hands as my stomach twisted in knots. This can't be happening. I shook my head and closed my eyes. They opened right up again when the car came to a complete stop. The door on my side was opened, to the sight of the government man gesturing me to get out of the car. It took me a moment to realize we were in some type of parking garage.
Ryder was carrying Austin's weight as the man told us to follow him. I observed as the man swished his badge through some sort of scanner. He lifted his hand to his mouth "Have the paramedics ready when we walk in, Agent Federoff has been injured." My eyes widened a bit in shock. who knew?
When the door opened a women dressed as a doctor, along with two other men, came rushing out to retrieve Austin from my brother's care. They carried him inside to some room. "Agent Kings, I see you have the royals with you." Another man in a suit said
"Dmitry and Alexandria Romanoff, it's a pleasure to finally meet you."
