The light entered through the window of the room, the overall whiteness of it making it appear bigger than it actually was. Because it wasn't big at all, it was pretty average.

A small couch next to the window, now transformed into a bed, with a sleeping mother laying on it, while her wife got dressed to go to work. She placed her white coat with her name batch on it and sighed, scanning the rest of the room. It had been decorated over the last two weeks.

A couple of pictures of their family on the small table next to the couch, some fairy lights hanging from the ceiling on the other side of the room, the volleyball that had been rolling around the day before finally tucked away in a corner, vases with flowers and notes resting on the window. And then, in the middle of all of it, a bed with a sleeping beauty on it.

Tamiko Shiota-Yamada laid on the bed with wires and tubes attached to her, machines making small and constant noises —which actually relaxed her mamma— and chest going up and doing slowly. She looked the same she had been for the past two weeks and three days. The only thing that had changed were the scrapes and bruises all over her body, they had slightly cured.

Hina sighed again, she knew that with the results of the exams on her daughter, she wouldn't be waking up soon, and she hated that. But still, Tamiko was a strong spirit, full of life, so she held hope.

She opened the door to go to her office on the other side of the hospital before starting her day, to be met with the sight of a hesitant boy. They stared at each other for a moment.

"When you're ready, I'm sure she's waiting" she told him, giving his shoulder a gentle squeeze and offering him a reassuring smile. He could only nod in thanks before she left.

Akaashi's hands trembled, but he thought he'd been stalling for too long now. So he took a deep breath and entered the room.
