Twenty- Nine

KIA: "I was drunk that night. Too drunk to know what was happening around me."

ZAYN: "What are you--?"

KIA: "I didn't mean to eavesdrop. I was just here to tell you both that doctor said they had to transfuse glucose into his body. Niall got the glucose. He told me to inform you guys."

ZAYN: "Thanks."

Zayn looks away and Louis starts walking back inside.

KIA: "I didn't want to come that day. The day of the party."

Both Louis and Zayn turn towards Kia.

LOUIS: "What do you mean?

KIA: "I knew it would become awkward. I never wanted to say or do what I did that night. It was the alcohol all along. I knew if I'd go sober I wouldn't be able to face Liam and Jimmy wanted me to come. So I drank a bit before we left. The breakup was painful but we were drifting apart and we both knew it. It was necessary."

KIA: "Infact I was proud of him that he came out to me and clarified everything. He told me what he was feeling and that made sense, that was the reason we were drifting apart. After I said those things to Liam, I couldn't stop blaming myself for destroying it, for destroying us. The only thing I had was alcohol. I drank too much and yes, I knew Liam saw me kissing that guy. That guy came out of nowhere and I just wanted to let it all out. I swear to god, he started it. He started it and I got taken away, exactly how it happened today. And I blame myself, I could have stepped away, both the times, but I didn't."

ZAYN: "Is someone here gonna tell me what happened today?"

LOUIS: "These two dumbasses kissed, in Liam's office and thanks to you for calling you made them regret it, instantly."

ZAYN: "Wow, and does Niall know? Judging by the expression on your faces, he does..."

Kia nods in response and Louis lets out a deep sigh.

LOUIS: "It was in that moment Zayn, I know him, he would never cheat on you, he would never cheat on anyone, he knows what it feels like."

Louis passes a sharp glance to Kia.

ZAYN: "So what? Y'all just expect me to forget it? Just like that? Like nothing happened? His lips didn't touch hers? And she didn't give in? And holy geez if I hadn't called what the f*ck would have happened!

LOUIS: "Zayn calm down."

Harry come running from inside the hospital, he whispers, "Why are you shouting? It's a freaking hospital guys."

HARRY: "By the way, Liam is awake, let's go see him."

KIA: "Only he wasn't the one who drove off the edge, it's just that he had you to bring him back, I didn't. Kia walks away after saying that, Louis' guilt can be seen in his eyes, he was wrong all along. He walks back into the corridor, right now, he just wants to see Liam."

Harry notices that Zayn doesn't look good. He wants to talk to him but at the same time he wants to give him some time alone.

(F*ck it! I'm done of giving him space, of giving him time to think, things get worse and I keep giving him time. He needs to talk to me even if he doesn't want to. He needs to let it all out. I have no idea what is going on, I'm becoming so distant from him. We havent had a proper conversation since he got hold of the case. It's a case, it's not his life. I mean it's important but I cant just let him do this all alone. I can't just let him not talk to me. I cant loose him, not now. I need him and I know he needs me too. I also know he wont say it because I know this guy he doesn't speak much. He doesnt express himself. I dont care. I'm gonna talk to him right now!)

Harry walks over to Zayn and places his and on Zayn's shoulder who's back is faced towards Harry.

HARRY: "I won't ask how are you because I know you aren't alright but you know what? You need to f*cking talk to me. Don't you get it? We are friends Zayn and we are, I don't know, we shouldn't be giving each other so much space. We are supposed to violate each other's privacy. What are we doing?"

Zayn turns around and hugs Harry. Harry can feel Zayn's tears on his shoulders but he doesn't say anything, he just holds on and waits until Zayn is ready to release him. Zayn doesn't leave his arms for some minutes, he whispers into Harry's ears, "I don't know what to do Harry, I don't know anything, the only thing I know is that this time I'm not the one who messed up."

Zayn tells Harry everything that has happened. Harry doesn't know what to say, afterall no one comes across such situations everyday.

HARRY: "Zayn I honestly don't know what to tell you. I'm not good at giving advices and you know that. You know you are the one who keeps giving me advices about everything, who protects me, who acts like a big brother."

ZAYN: "I know Harreh! But I don't know what am I supposed to do."

HARRY: "I think I know someone who can help you with that."

Harry turns Zayn's face towards the left side.

ZAYN: "Mum?"

TRISHA: "I was gonna go straight home but Harry told me you are here and that you might need me."

Trisha hugs Zayn.
Zayn mouths "Thank you so much." to Harry and Harry walks away giving him a smile and waving at Trisha.

As soon as Harry leaves, Zayn tells everything to Trisha.

TRISHA: "Zee baby, listen. If you really think this boy is worth giving a chance and if you really think that he didn't mean to do it then go talk to him. Maybe he was going through some hard time about which he didn't tell you. And about that girl, I think she was hurt as much as Liam was. I don't think anyone is to be blamed in this case. It's not like you haven't done mistakes in past but you know that you didn't get a chance to correct those mistakes, maybe Liam needs this chance. Talk to him and sort it out
baby."

ZAYN: "Thanks mum. For coming and for talking some sense into me."

He pulls out his keys from his pocket and gives it to Trisha.

ZAYN: "See you at home?"
Trisha smiles and drives away.

Zayn goes to Liam's room where if Liam is asking everyone if Zayn's gone. He hears some voices coming from the room-

LOUIS: "Yes Liam I told him because it was the right thing to do. You can explain him in your way later."

LIAM: "I don't think there is gonna be a later. He's gone. Why would he even want to be with me after what I did?"

NIALL: "He has to be with you. He will want to, just like I still want to be with Kia."

LIAM: "It's different Ni. You don't understand."

Zayn gently knocks at the door and opens it.

LIAM: "Zaynie- you came! I'm so sorry for everything that happened. I didn't mean to. I got carried away. I would never want to hurt you Zayn. I promised you. Remember?"

NURSE: "Y'all can't be in here. The patient is putting to much load on himself. Only one of you can stay."

LOUIS: "Zayn, you stay. C'mon, let's get out oh here." Zayn looks at Liam, he looks really weak. Zayn sits beside him on the hospital bed and holds his hand.

ZAYN: "My mum told me if this boy really matters to you then give him another chance."

Zayn doesn't make eye contact with Liam.

LIAM: (softly) "I love your mom."

Zayn hits him on the arm, lightly.

LIAM: "I mean, she seems lovely. I should meet her."

Zayn looks at him, in his eyes in which Liam is already searching something.

LIAM: "You know the first time we-"

ZAYN: "I know!"

LIAM: "Let me give it another try. Zayn, I love you and I'm sorry for being extremely stupid."

ZAYN: "I love you too Leeyum!.."
