Zhongli clambered up the stairs of Wangshu Inn that lead to the secluded, dimly lit balcony, with Childe following suit.

Reaching the top, they could make out the slender figure of a young male, with long, black hair stained with green highlights and pale skin, his gloved hands rested on the railing of the balcony. He seemed to be lost in the stars.

"Xiao." Zhongli called.

Upon hearing the familiar voice, xiao immediately snapped his head around to look at the source, despite knowing full well who it was.

"Morax." Xiao, who would've barely turned his head was it anyone else, had completely turned his body to face the Geo Archon. "What are you doing here?"

"You see, I was just dropping by to grab a bite with Childe. However we ended up ordering a bit too much Almond Tofu and decided you'd enjoy it."

Xiao nodded in approval. "Yes, I would--"

Xiao stopped mid sentence, his eyes widening with realisation. He turned his head slowly towards Childe, who's expression reciprocated Xiao's.

"Wait a second," They both started at the same time, "THIS GUY knows your identity?!"

Zhongli sighed, watching their jaws drop open and eyes light up with fury.

"Yes yes, you both know my identity--Xiao, put your weapon away-- and it's quite a long story." Xiao hissed, putting his polearm back.

Zhongli continued. "I suppose I'll start with Childe. Xiao, Childe is my boyfriend."

Xiao's jaw dropped once more, his weapon reappearing in his hand.

"He's a fatui member! He's nothing but trouble. I refuse to accept this." Xiao seethed, glaring at Childe.

Childe snorted. "I'M nothing but trouble?! That sure means a lot coming from a little kid like you!"

"How dare you overstep your mortal boundary, you insolent human?!" Xiao raged, reaching for his yaksha mask.

"Alright, alright, let's calm down." Zhongli called, one hand grabbing Childe's hand from forming his dual swords, and the other stopping Xiao from touching his mask. "Childe, Xiao is the last surviving yaksha, as well as an adeptus who signed the contract to protect Liyue."

"Argh," Childe groaned. "So this midget really isn't a kid. Well, whatever, that doesn't make any difference."

"Morax.. how could you possibly partake in a foolish human activity such as.. dating.. and with this ill mannered scum, of all people?" Xiao spat.

"Oh, shut it, shortie. He can date whoever he wants!" Childe hissed back, crossing his arms.

"You do NOT have my consent!" Xiao yelled, slapping his mask onto his face.

"I don't NEED your consent!" Childe yelled back, sliding his own mask down onto his face.

"Bane of all Evil!"

"Foul Legacy!"

CRASH! BANG! SQUELCH! CRACK! BOOM! PLUNGE PLUNGE PLUNGE!

"Ah.. it's going to be a long night." Zhongli sighed, taking a seat at the lone table at the balcony, watching the two males fight.

---

"Tired..pant.. already, pant... vigilant yaksha?" Childe taunted between gasps of air, barely forming his words.

"Never.. cough.. I will not.. accept defeat.. pant" Xiao coughed, wiping blood from his face.

"Are you two done? come sit down." Zhongli said.

Neither of them budged, remaining in their fighting stances.

"That was an ORDER." Zhongli commanded, his eyes threateningly gleaming.

The two complied, cowering under Zhongli's gaze.

"Now, Xiao, you're terribly injured. Have you been taking the medicine I sent you?"

Xiao whispered quietly. "I did."

"I see, yet you still hurt yourself when you use the Bane of all Evil." Zhongli sighed.

"Zhongli, I'm injured too." Childe wailed childishly.

"Of course. Xiao, would you like some help with your wounds?" Zhongli added.

The shorter male shook his head sideways.

Zhongli descended the stairs of the balcony back down to the restaurant area. He pulled out his phone, dialling Aether's number.

"Hello? Zhongli..? Do you need something?"

"Ah, Aether. I'm terribly sorry for disturbing you at this time, however Xiao has gotten a bit injured in a little fight and won't accept my help, if you can, could you please come to Wangshu Inn to help him out?"

"Xiao did what..?" Zhongli heard Aether sigh. "Very well, guess I'll be there in a bit."

"Thank you, Aether. I'll be taking Childe and heading off once you arrive."

"Alright"

---

Aether arrived shortly after the phone call. He seemed to have travelled by Waypoint. His hair was still roughed up and his clothes crumpled. Zhongli apologised for waking the male up.

"Xiao. Are you alright?" Aether asked gently, sitting down next to Xiao.

"Aether."

Zhongli watched as Xiao's eyes lit up slightly at the arrival of the blonde male.

"I-I do not need help from mortals. It is an adeptus's duty to carry out violent tasks." Xiao stammered, turning his face away from Aether to hide his slight blush as the blonde male held his hands.

"Don't be stupid, Xiao. You're clearly hurt, and I always help you anyways." Aether softly replied.

Zhongli walked over to Childe, who was watching Aether and Xiao skeptically.

"I think it's about time we leave, as well."

And so, Childe and Zhongli's date night came to an end.
