Chongyun's POV

Chongyun limped into Wanmin restaurant, the burns on his arms and face burning, his head ringing, waves of yang energy crashing in the pit of his stomach. Collapsing in a seat, he called Xiangling over.

"What would you like to order-- oh, hi Chongyun! ?" Her voice changed from its usual cordial tone to a cringing pitiful voice. "How did it go, then..?"

"How did what go..?" Chongyun muttered confusedly, head resting on the table.

"The-the exorcism? I'm guessing it wasn't too good." Xiangling eyed the burns on his cheek.

"Ah, exorcism? There was no spirit. Just some pyro slimes."

Xiangling made an "ah.." sound. "Do you want some ice for the burns?"

"No thanks, I'll just have the usual."

"Alright then, one bowl of Cold Noodles with Mountain Delicacies, coming right up!" Xiangling rushed away, picking up and balancing multiple plates on her head.

Chongyun closed his eyes.

Just a quick nap.. I deserve it..

"Chongyun? Chongyun, wake up! Your noodles are ready!"

The blue haired male opened his eyes groggily, awakened by the sound of Xiangling's voice. Xiangling placed the plate of cold noodles in front of Chongyun, turning on her heel to leave, when Chongyun spoke up.

"Did you put this piece of paper in my noodles?" Chongyun queried, holding up a small piece of parchment with noodle grease covering it.

"Huh? Of course not. Must be a prank," Xiangling began, "d'you want me to get you a new plate of noodles? I can throw the note out as well if you like."

Chongyun shook his head. "That's alright."

Placing the note next to him, he began reading the familiar writing carefully placed on the parchment.

'Dear Chongyun,
You,
Me,
The stars,
Mt. Tianheng's hilichurls.

11PM.

I have Xingqiu.'

Chongyun spat his noodles out, standing up with great force. Pulling the hood of his hoodie over his head, he grabbed his claymore and ran out of the restaurant.

"Chongyun, where are you--" Xiangling yelled after him, however he was too frantic to listen.

Tossing her apron aside, she ran to the note and the half eaten plate of noodles abandoned on the table and read the note.

"Xingqiu? But how..? Has he returned from Fontainé?"

-

Shit, shit shit shit shit. The notewriter has Xingqiu.. what if he's in trouble?! How did the notewriter get Xingqiu in the first place?!

Thoughts scuttled through Chongyun's mind, like the sound of a rattle to the ears as he flung himself onto the peak of Mt. Tianheng.

His frantic breathing calmed down slowly, yang energy still pounding through his body.
