~ Jisung Pov.

The next morning I felt someone pressing close to me.

I immediately became aware of who was lying behind me, as I remembered the night when Minho had lain down with me to calm me down.

I opened my eyes but didn't move an inch. Minho's breath bounced right against the back of my neck, leaving goosebumps there and I had to swallow.

"H-hyung?" in an uncertain voice I tried to wake the older one but he didn't respond, so I tried to move to free myself from his grip.

"Mmh..." Minho grumbled to himself and pressed himself even more against me, preventing me from breaking away from him.

Minho you idiot! You're going to make my heart explode!

Carefully I turned around in his grip and my heart leapt when I realized how close we were. The tip of my nose lightly brushed his and I could see directly into the beautiful face of the guy opposite me. He had his eyes closed and his body was moving rhythmically to his steady breathing.

I admired his face up close and only now I realized how beautiful he was. Of course I already knew that he was handsome but when I looked at him from close up he was really breathtaking.

Because I was so caught up in my admiration, I didn't notice that Minho had already opened his eyes and looked me straight in the eye. Brown met brown and my eyes widened.

My cheeks became directly hot because this intense eye contact left me anything but cold.

I don't know if I was imagining it but somehow it looked like Minho was getting closer and closer to my face.

Out of panic, I suddenly stood up.
"W-we should go to your parents. After all, we were going to town today." I said in a panic and ran to my dresser.

Behind me I heard a very soft sigh which was from Minho and if I'm honest I didn't know why he did that.

So after Minho got up from his bed too, we both got changed and went downstairs where Ms. Lee had already set the table.

"Good morning you two." Ms. Lee greeted me and Minho while pointing to the set breakfast table to ask us to sit down.

So we all sat down together at the table and started eating.

After that we went straight to the city. On the way there there was again a silence between me and Minho but this time it was much less weird than where we drove here.

It felt a little more... relaxed.

When we arrived in town we split up. Ms. and Mr. Lee went one way and me and Minho went the other.

Minho's parents felt that we were old enough and could walk through the market street by ourselves, although that meant me and Minho were alone.

"Jisung." Minho's voice made me stop and I turned to face him. I raised an eyebrow questioningly until he suddenly pointed in a direction.

I followed his direction and saw him pointing to a candy stand.

Immediately the corners of my mouth went up and without thinking further I went to the stand, Minho following me.

I bought a whole bag of candy and Minho did the same.

Satisfied, I strolled through the market street, eating a candy every now and then, while Minho walked beside me. I noticed how Minho looked at me with a smile and then averted his eyes again.

We walked for quite a while through the market street because it was extremely long and with every step more and more beautiful memories came up. It felt like I had traveled back a few years and was here again with Minho when we were kids.

After a while Minho and I sat down on a bench that directly bordered a river. Before that, each of us had gotten an ice cream. I vanilla he chocolate. Just like back then.

We hadn't really talked the whole way but it was still nowhere near as weird as it had been a few days ago.

"Jisung?" Minho's voice caught my attention and I looked at him questioningly.
"About yesterday..." he was about to bring up the subject of yesterday when I interrupted him.
"It's okay..." I mumbled with a smile and then looked back down at my ice cream, which I was holding in my hand.

That I forgave Minho so easily wasn't right, but it made things easier. I just didn't want to wake up with that certain life every morning and realize that Minho was no longer a part of my life.

Because no matter how much he hurts me he always will be.

I heard Minho start to sigh next to me and I turned to him. He was playing with his fingers thoughtfully, his eyes downcast.

"I'm really sorry Ji." He pressed through clenched teeth, his gaze continuing on his fingers.
"I shouldn't have treated you like that and taken out my frustrations on you." He continued talking, looking at me for a moment until he started laughing lightly.
"I just kind of wanted to forget my own pain in the process." He continued, looking up at the sky where a few birds were circling.

Minho seemed genuinely sorry and I could more than understand how he felt.

I felt sorry for him. After all, he is so attached to Jihyo that he was so miserable without her.

Comfortingly I put my hand on his and his gaze found mine again. Out of wide eyes he looked at me and I smiled at him.
"I understand. An unrequited love can really destroy you."

For a moment, I could see a change in his gaze again. He had the same look on his face as the day he had pushed me away. But that look also disappeared in a millisecond before he then averted his gaze from me again and started laughing.
"You got that right..." he muttered, running his hand through his hair.

But for some reason, that laugh didn't sound genuine, but like the purest sadness.

"You know..." I kicked my legs under me, smiling stubbornly at the blue sky above me.
"There's something to be said for a heartbreak." I continued and then turned my gaze to the black-haired one, who looked at me with a questioning look.

He looked at me silently, waiting for me to continue my sentence.

"Then you know your love is real." I finished my sentence, smiling briefly at Minho until I turned away from him again.

"We should get back slowly then." I pushed myself out of the bench and was about to start walking when Minho suddenly pulled me back slightly by the wrist.

Wide-eyed, I eyed Minho and switched my gaze between his hand holding me and then him.
"Jisung there is something I need to tell you." His voice sounded serious and somehow it scared me a little too.
"Ji, I-" he didn't get any further than his parents came up behind him and called out to us.

He released his grip from me and then turned to his parents, who came up to us smiling.

"So, did you guys have fun?" Ms. Lee looked at both of us in turn and we both nodded with smiles and Ms. Lee made a satisfied sound.

The four of us spent some more time together in the market, admiring each of the stalls that stretched to the horizon.

Minho hadn't picked up the conversation from earlier and hadn't done so for the rest of the day, although I would have liked to know what he was trying to tell me that was so important.

After we drove back to the beach house we all prepared everything for the barbecue and then ate together. Afterwards we all walked along the beach and admired the sunset.

I would have lied if I said that I didn't look at Minho the whole time because he looked even more beautiful in the evening sun than he already was.

And so we let the evening fade away and went to bed, since we were going back in the morning.

Although I was initially afraid that this holiday between me and Minho would have made everything worse for me, the opposite occurred.

We finally took a step towards each other again and I didn't have to worry about whether things would ever be the same between us again.
