AMOS
I was falling - fast. I don't remember the events that led to this very moment. This very moment being me falling off the highest ledge you could think off, my hair moving with the wind as my limbs simultaneously relaxed. I was falling - but endlessly. There was no ground below me, only an abyss of pitch black darkness.
Even then, I remained unafraid. This.. this felt nice, to be one with the wind, to fly without wings, to simply be.
And then boom. It happened.
What? Me hitting the ground? No.
"Dude, what the fuck?" I hissed, rolling off my bed and onto the floor upon the impact of freezing cold water being poured onto me mercilessly. I glanced up at the traitor. "Alex, what the hell?"
His dark eyes were fixated onto mine, and you wouldn't even need a pair of eyes to tell that he was enjoying the little stunt he had just pulled (at four in the morning, need I remind you).
"I'm going to wake up super early and get dressed up all nice and pretty before I go to work," he said in an obnoxiously high-pitched voice, clearly imitating me from the day before.
"Okay, change of plans. I was having a pretty cool dream and didn't want to-"
"Don't care, didn't ask, go get dressed," he interrupted, throwing the empty bucket he'd used to violate me aside. My eyes followed the bucket as it bounced thrice before spinning to rest. Then I let out a scoff, "For what?"
"Did you.. already forget?" he gasped, his eyes widening. "Oh wow, Amos. For somebody who spent half their life studying to become a doctor, you're still as dumb as ever."
"Oh fuck!" I let out when realization finally hit me like a truck moving at a million metres per second. "Dude, it's my first day as a resident doctor!"
"Yeah, dude," Alex spat, unamused. "I kinda figured that out myself. Took you long enough though. Now go get dressed, I'm sure your senior physicians don't want to see you showing up to work wearing.. Hello Kitty boxers?"
His eyes trailed down to my no-no region, as did mine. Then, I let out a shriek. Well, a scream more-like. The kind of scream when twelve year old boys are trying to imitate girls and think it's the most hilarious thing ever. That kind of scream.
I scurried to grab the pillow beside me and placed it right over my shameful boxers. "We shall never speak a word of this again, you hear me?"
Alex continued to whistle, turning his back to me, pretending as if he hadn't heard me.
"Black, you listening?"
"I am listening," he responded. "However the image of you in those boxers is already engraved into the deepest crevices of my brain. Sorry bud, there's nothing you can do to get it out of there. Just a reminder that I'm probably going to blackmail you with this for the rest of your life."
"And this is where I terminate our friendship," I announced, getting up and awkwardly walking over to the washroom, the pillow still held in front of my manhood.
"To be truthful," he began, feigning shame as he wiped away imaginary tears. "I have the same pair. Except, they're purple - and they don't say 'Hello Kitty', they say 'Bye Kitty'. I didn't realize it was a rip off until I got home."
I simply stood and stared at him for a moment. Was this guy being serious?
"What? Don't look at me like that. You're the one with the Hello Kitty boxers," he retorted.
"And you're the one with the Bye Kitty boxers," I fired back.
"Hey! We don't speak of that. That hurts my feelings," he joked, grabbing the still bucket and flinging it over in my direction. I ducked just in time and it hit the mirror behind me and bounced right back to hit me in the ass, sending me flying to the floor. I fell face first by the way - almost like I was making out with the floor.
Alex opened his mouth to say something snarky, but I grabbed the bucket from behind me and threw it right at his head. That shut him up. That also sent him flying ten steps back.
"Damn.." he whispered when he'd regained his composure. "Double homicide."
This was a lovely way to start off my morning. Note the sarcasm.

A/N: Alrighty everyone. I've finally decided to write another book after, what, a whole year? I was 14 when I wrote my last few books and now since I turn 16 very, very soon, I decided that it'd be best for me to write something new with the tiny amount of knowledge I've gained throughout the past year. I hope you lot will grow to love this book as much as you did the others. Also, special thank you to h0lyw0trfr0mh3ll for volunteering to be a character in this book (Alex Black), I hope I'll be able to do you enough justice with this character since I owe you for being a loyal reader for so long <3
