...I thought the first part was long...this one is almost 6,000 words...oh boy. I hope this has a more satisfying ending for y'all, thank you for reading! (a quick note, I really don't have the patience to proofread all of this, so if there's some spelling or grammar mistakes please forgive me, lol.)

Whenever something benefits people, it is quickly fought over. Wars. Corruption. The works. All for one little thing.
There's a pattern in human history of putting yourself before others, even when you consider yourself to be part of a bigger group, and the other to be a separate one. Even if you are fighting for a common goal, it's that "otherness" that really draws the sides.
Every once in a while, something is discovered that could change the world. I was one of those things. Well, we were.
It started with another, driven by the hunger for information. Elite members of the world had been outed for using a spirit of the past to gain their intelligence, The Pillar Of Knowledge.
Then came me. A man who knew about my existence but had kept it from the world for the belief of me being dangerous had used the discovery of another pillar to finally reveal it, many years after our incident occurred.
The discovery of another pillar put the world into overdrive, many nations creating plans to harvest our abilities for their own benefit. They soon realized that a better option would be to keep us as a service, and began creating plans to either capture us or convince us to join them.
Me and Knowledge agreed that The United States of America gave us our best offer. They promised that our services would remain free to the public, they would organize and plan any visits fairly, and would give us top notch protection to ensure our safety.
Humanity quickly became obsessed with us, even when we were still in discussions with world governments, and their curiosity and vigorous research led to two things.
One, a way to move our bounded locations. All that needed to be done was to take a staple from our homes, and we could remain stable wherever that object went.
Two, all that research into us and our abilities led to the uncovering of a third, The Pillar Of Courage. That one had been left alone the longest, even during it's prime, it was never as popular as me or Knowledge.
Soon, talks became plans, plans became tests, and tests became a reality. We were all surprised by the efficiency of the creation of such a complicated system, given the United State's track record.
Within a few years, the kinks had been worked out, and we became a symbol for the country. Anyone from around the world could submit an application to see us, it would go through many hands and be sorted many times, until getting a spot in the list. But the wait got longer and longer over the years.
The more people we helped, the more people wanted to see us. We can never get to them all in time. It put the most guilt on me, honestly. People can live without Knowledge or Courage, but if they are emotionally troubled, it can be a different story.
I used to love helping them. I enjoyed each visit and remembered every face. But after a while, they all blend together. I hear the same stories over and over again.
The love I felt when they were healed stopped giving the the same happiness it used to. But there isn't a way out, I have that responsibility now.
I think a lot about the old days. Existing in a free space, able to observe humanity as an outsider without having to help them. It was easy. I was bored an alone, but now I'm overworked.
