It was a stormy Friday night. The Thunder loudly crashing. The lightning lighting up the sky. The rain heavily pouring down.
Joyce and Hopper had just finished their Enzos date, and were heading home. The drive home was fairly difficult due to the heavy rain and dark roads. They both had a great time. Their fingers were intertwined the whole car ride back.
Once they pulled up to the house, El, will, Jonathan, and Nancy were already there. As soon as they opened the car door they could hear the music that was being played inside. It was the song Joyce and Jim slow danced to at senior prom. The song was played loudly enough that they could hear it clear.
Hopper came around to open her door for her. He reached out his hand.... "Dance with me?" He smiled at her. "It's raining, hop." She giggled whole heartedly. "Makes it that much better." He responded. She accepted his hand and he helped her out of the car. As soon as they were both standing in the rain they were almost completely soaked.
He put an arm around her waist, and used his other hand to intertwine their fingers once again. They rocked back and forth slowly to the rhythm to the song. He reached up to move her wet hair behind her ear, then kissed her lips gingerly.
She rested her head against his soaking wet chest, and he placed a kiss on the top of her head. The storm had not even remotely calmed down , but they were still dancing. Jim softly spun her around, and brought her right back to his chest, kissing her lips again. She laughed against his lips, making him smile as well.
"I don't know what I would do without you." He spoke softly in her ear. She lifted her head up and looked him in the eyes. "You made life worth living. You're everything to me. My bestfriend. The love of my life. You're my soulmate, and I'd be lying if I said you weren't the best thing that's ever happened to me." He spoke again. Her eyes were watering but he couldn't tell from the rain. "You mean the world to me, Jim. When you were taken it felt like my life was gone. I was done, I was so close. If you wouldn't have ever came back I probably wouldn't still be here." He could here in her voice that she was starting to cry.
"I love you so much." He said resting his chin on her head, holding her close. The music stopped but the rain hadn't. "We should probably go inside before we catch pneumonia." Hopper laughed. "Yeah." She agreed. The walked inside together, his arm around her protectively, her head leaning against his shoulder.
Everything had fallen into place. Jim was happy. Joyce was happy. Their life was absolutely perfect. Two love birds finally finding their love life together.....
