6.5 Arms Tonite

     The movie ends and I get up but Alex doesn't let go of my hand. We throw our trash and walk out of the theater together. "So what'd you think ?" Alex asked me. "About the movie or this ?" I looked at our hands. "Either," he said back. "I liked it. Very fun and relaxing, I think," I said, still staring at our entwined hands. "What was your favorite part ?" he asked again. "Whenever we were in line getting snacks," I said back, now looking at him. "I liked that part too," he added. The both of us stayed quiet for a few moments before he spoke. "I'd like to take you out again. We didn't really get to talk to each other too much and that was kind of my fault for taking you to a movie," he asked me. "Yeah I think I'd like that, you still have to help me fix my dating life," I said jokingly. "Well whenever I'm done it'll be better than ever," he joked back, "can I walk you to your car ?" "Yeah, of course," I said back. We soon made it to my car and to our surprise, his was right in front of mine.

     "You know, if you don't have any other plans for tonight we could go back to my place and, uh, anything really," he said calmly. "Sure, I have nowhere else to be really," I replied. "Are you sure? It's really dangerous going somewhere with a complete stranger this late," he asked. "You're not that much of a stranger, plus I trust u. From everything I've seen of you, both online and in-person, it should be safe." Alex gave me a worried smile that soon turned calm and accepting. "As long as you don't do this with every person you go out with." Alex and I got into our cars as I followed him to his house.

     After about 10 minutes, we arrived at his apartment complex not far from my university. We both parked our cars and walked up the stairs to his floor. As we arrived at his door, Alex spoke to me before opening the door. "I don't know if I should've mentioned this sooner but I have a roommate. He shouldn't bother us but he's a little, well, you'll see." Alex unlocked the door and let me step inside. The apartment wasn't anything special, just your average broke college student's quarters. As far as I could tell, the warned "roommate" was nowhere to be seen. "My roomie should be huddled up in his room playing games or something, we should be alone for a whi-" "SON OF A BITCH." From down the hallway, I heard a British-sounding man yell in playful anger. I looked at Alex questioningly and he just nodded his head and closed his eyes.
   
     Alex took me through the hallway to his room across from his roommate's and told me he had to talk to his roommate a little bit. I took the free time I had to text my mother that I might be spending the night at a friend's. As I sent the text I wondered about what I was doing. It was a pretty big conclusion that I was jumping towards, or was it just wishful thinking? My mother texted back that it was ok if I stayed or came home, just to text when the decision was made. Alex still wasn't back by the time I finished so I began taking a look around his room. He had a shelf with a few really good books on them, including the book I got from the bookstore, a guitar and keyboard near the window, and a large pc setup with multiple monitors on his desk. It didn't seem extravagant but perfect for streaming. While I kept looking at the pc, Alex opened the door and came back into the room.
   
     "Alright, I told him that I have a friend over so he shouldn't bother us for a while," he stated. "Interested in the pc ?" He caught me staring at it and I didn't have much of a reply. "It's just crazy seeing someone else's stream set up, especially one that's so different from mine." I turned my gaze from the pc to Alex and asked about the shelf. "All that? It's just a few books that really stuck with me over the years. I liked them so much I had to buy them, for like memories and shit. It's honestly a little embarrassing." "Embarrassing my ass, it's really sweet that you keep the books that mean stuff to you. It's honestly a little cute." "Oh so I'm cute now, huh ?" he asked playfully. "Just a little bit," I played back, "a little cuteness never hurt anyone ya big lug." "Wow, that means a lot coming from you." "I can't tell if that was a compliment or an insult but I don't care," I said standing up. I walked up to Alex near the bookshelf and pointed a finger on his chest. Alex raised both of my hands above my head and looked at me with a teasing smile. Alex swooped down and grabbed my legs, hanging me upside down over his back. He spun us around until I smacked his behind, startling him. He pulled me up and laid me flat on his bed. The two of us wrestled until I eventually gave up and let him pin me to the mattress.
   
     The two of us looked into the eyes of the other till Alex broke the silence. "Y/n ?" "Alex" "Can I kiss you ?" "Can I kiss you back ?" Alex leaned in and touched our lips together, cupping my cheek with one hand in the process. I felt Alex's moist mouth hold against mine before moving down to my neck. Alex shifted his tight grip on my wrist to a soft, tender hold on my palms. I lifted both of my hands and placed them underneath Alex's beanie feeling his smooth, soft hair before he removed the beanie entirely.
