I sat at the table in the dining area and listened to the guys all tell stories about what happened to lead them here, and learned that they were part of some kind of team X, or something. They all also told me about how they came to know that they were mutants. I think James' was the saddest story I had heard. He patted my shoulder when I told everyone about how I found out, and what had happened when I told my parents.

"We came from a different time, it was much worse back then to be something different." James told me.

I nodded. "i'm sorry that it happened the way it did." He nodded and went back to his drink. "Ya know," I began. "When I woke up this morning, I never would have thought I would be sitting here drinking coffee with seven other mutants." I laughed a little. "I never thought I would have been knocked down in the street by starbucks by a man toating two swords, running from his ex girlfriend." Everyone laughed and Wade looked down at the table.

"Well I didn't expect to run into such a pretty girl." He said crossing his arms.

"Oh I apologise you find my stunning beauty a distraction." Everyone laughed and I through my arm around Wade's shoulders. "You know I'm only kidding right." He laughed and nodded.

"So are you all ok with her staying?" He asked the others. The general answer was sure.

Victor was the only silent one. "What we say doesn't really matter." He started. "Its how Stryker reacts when he hears about you bringing some girl here, after he told you specifically not to do something like this." He said. I put my eyes down, Talk about making someone feel unwanted and awkward.

"Come on Victor, It can't be as bad as we think." James said innm y deffence. "Whats he gonna do? kick us out?" He said sarcastically.

"Hardly." Came a strict voice behind us all.

"Oh hell." John said putting his head down.

I turned around and saw an older fat man standing there, looking very disapprovingly. Personally I didn't care if he wanted me here or not, I wanted to be around Wade, hes the first friend I've had for four years. I stood up and he looked at me.

"I'm sorry, I don't mean to intrude." I said politely.

he huffed. "Intrude?" He asked with a slight laugh. "You're a mutant yes?" He asked. I nodded. "Blyss Lynn varner?" I gave him a strange look and he laughed again. "Darling, no one comes in or out of here without me knowing who they are. There wasn't much about you though, seems as though you dropped off the radar when you were....sixteen?"

I looked away, he was pushing some buttons, and I had a hairpin trigger. Wade stood up next to me, he tried to grab my hand but jerked away, I didn't mean to burn him. This guy was just pissing me off.

"You had a younger brother." Oh hell no. "Was there any signs of the mutant gene in him?" He asked amused at my anger. Full flame on my hands now, I could feel my blood boiling in every inch of my body. "I wonder if your father had any relatives with the gene, maybe thats why he reacted the way he did. . ."

"You son of a bitch!" I yelled charging him, both hands holding a large flame. I was inches away from him when John teleported beside me, holding me back. his leather jacket began smoking, he was about to let go when James grabbed my wrist pulling it up so I was looking in his eyes.

"thats enough." He said sternly. My fire was burning him, but his skin was regenerating very quickly. "Blyss, calm down." He said in a softer tone. My flames subsides and Wade pulled me into his embrace. "This is William Stryker." he said, then turning his attention to Stryker he apologised and told him who I was. "Wade met her today, she was living out of her car so he offered to let her stay." He explained.
