The ride to vegas was almost unbearable on a motorcycle. Stopping along the way, however only for the absolute shortest amount of time. It took about a day for us to get there, I didn't know why James didn't just drive a car, it would have been much easier. {He would have never found a car as good as mine though] I learned that Johnny ran a gym called "Spectre" in Las Vegas. It was wierd think about it. if I would have gone to vegas, would I have even noticed if I saw him in the crowd? Its been a long time, I didn't know if he was still the same person, or even if he aged at all. I didn't know how it worked for all mutants, only James and I because of how we heal. I guess...we just can't die...
It was a horrble notion to accept, to know that you'll out live all of your family, your "normal" friends, moving ever couple of years when people start noticing you haven't aged at all. We had to be nomadic, unless..."Unless you find someone else like you...or someone that accepted your mutation...I had that once." I sighed, and pushed that from my mind. We would be arriving soon. I leaned forward, resting my chin on James' shoulder.
I took a deep breath. "SO what did hear about Wade?" I yelled so he would be able to hear me.
He didn't answer right away. "I heard he quit the team around the same time as all of you!" He yelled back. "He dropped off the map after a while. He stayed here in Vegas for a while! Kept to himself though!"
I bit my bottom lip and put my forhead against the back of his shoulder, shielding myself from the rough winds. "He lived right here in vegas?! All these years...and I could have been loving him..." I leaned back up next to James' ear again. "Take me to where he lived!" I yelled. He pulled up to the gym and sighed as he turned his bike off.
"You'll have to get his address from Johnny." he said not looking at me. "I have to get some information Blyss, take this." He handed me a cell phone. "I'll call you if I leave here, just..." He hugged me tightly. "Stay safe alright?" He whispered. I pulled away and nodded. He looked up to the huge neon sign that read "SPECTRE'S GYM" and sighed heavily. "You ready for a reuinion?"
I nodded and followed him inside, and up to the office. At first it seemed empty, but a familiar "poof" sound and he was right in front of us, wearing an aged smirk. He wasn't aging as quickly as the mortals were, but he was still aging, you can see it in his eyes.
"Well, well, well." he began. "An angel from my past just walked right into my gym" He said giving me a hug. I laughed and he looked to James. "And shes followed by an old ugly mug." I laughed again and we all sat down in his office. "beer?" He offered. We both nodded. "So I hear you're going by Logan these days." He said to James.
I looked over to him. "I didn't know that, you want me to call you Logan?" I asked. he kinda smiled and gave an awkward nod. I nodded back. "I'm sorry Jame...Logan." He laughed and nudged my arm.
Logan explained everything to him, about what happened to him, and why I was following him around.
It got silent for a moment so I took a deep breath and asked..."Johnny?" He looked over to me. "I have a favour to ask of you..."
"Well shoot baby girl." He said. "Can't be as big as what Logans asking of us here."
I looked to the floor. "I need Wade's address." I said. I didn't look up but Ic ould feel the heart broken look he was giving me. I didn't want to see it, I already knew I wouldn't find him there, but it didn't stop my heart from hoping it was going to be like a fairy tale. We're mutants, there is no fairy tales for us... When I looked back up, he was handing me a piece of paper.
"Won't take you long on foot." He said giving me that same sad look. I reached up, taking it in my hand. I looked at this piece of paper as if I were going to see Wade there in the writing. I'm building myself up for a huge let down, I can feel it in my bones.
