Poison (Cloud Strife x Reader)

Chapter 5

Y/N's P.O.V
We rambled around the reactor for quite sometime. Encountered some sweepers, climbed a ladder or two, and of course, Cloud and Barret can't stop rambling about each other. Seriously, they can't shut up for 5 seconds. Makes me want to grab them by the ear and just yell at them to be quiet.
Eventually, Barret, Cloud and I, made it to the reactor core without getting into deep shit. I'm just glad we made it through. We walked towards the core, slowly. I stopped and took a good look at it.
"When we blow this place, it ain't gonna be nothin' more than a hunka junk," Barret said to me. I didn't answer and just nodded. Barret walked closer to the core and turned around and looked at Cloud.
"All right. Let's see if little Stamp really can bite the hand that feeds.." With that said, he pulls out a bomb and hands it to Cloud. "Go on. Do the honors. Prove to me you're the man Tifa says you are. That you're one of us."
"Never said I was. I'm just here for the paycheck," Cloud growled.
Barret snarled, "Then do the damn job!"
"Ugh! Fine, I'll do it. Since, you two can't shut up." I butted in and grabbed the bomb from Barret.
"But Y/N! I wasn't-"
"Hmph. At least she knows not to fuss around." Barret told Cloud.
I walked over to the reactor core and placed the bomb. As soon as I did, my head started to fuss up again. I put my hand over my head trying to calm the pain.
"Watch out! This isn't just a reactor!"
I looked over to see a black feather fall from the ground and slowly faded away. I wondered where it came from and just stared at the ground where the feather fell. "Huh?"
"What's wrong?" Barret asked me. I turned around seeing Barret and Cloud looking considered. I sighed and turned back to the bomb. "I'm fine, sorry. How much time do you want?"
"Your call, merc"
I figured 20 minutes would be enough if we rush out on time. "Pretty cocky, ain'tcha?" Barret told me. I smirked and brushed it off. I was just about to push the button, Until, I herd a noise out of no where.
"Something's here!" I shouted summoning my spear.
"You double-crossing-" Barret and Cloud got their weapons out ready to fight. We looked around the area looking for the object. Until, I looked up and saw a large robot.
"Head's up!" I shouted.
"What in the hell!" Barret shouted and we all scrammed. I robot had a large scorpion structure with a large electric tail.
We all started attacking the scorpion, trying to figure out it's weakness. "Hey! How the hell do we fight this thing." Barret shouted.
"It's got reinforced armor plating-but the internals can be overloaded." Cloud stated.
"Our best bet is using lightning materia." I shouted. With that, we were ready to beat the shit out of this thing,
After some tense fighting, we were close to ending this thing. It just needed one final hit. I had an idea. "Cloud! Hoist me up!" I shouted.
"What!?"
"Trust me! Just do it!"
Cloud began to position his sword above his head on an angle. I began running towards him and jumped onto the buster sword. With all of Cloud's strength, he pushed me off leaving me flying towards the scorpion. I took my spear and jabbed it into the head of the scorpion, officially defeating it. I jumped off the scorpion and ran near Cloud.
The scorpion started going berserk and begin blowing up the place with it's laser beam tail. It got out of control to the point blocking the path to the bomb.
"Shit! The bomb!" Barret cried.
"Twenty minutes until detonation."
I turned around seeing the scorpion robot loosing its balance and fell into the mako below us. Finally, it's over.
Well, half way.
"Hah, you hear that? Damn thing showed you how it's done!" Barret shouted in joy.
"Yeah. I guess so-" I said. However, I felt a sharp stingy pain on my left shoulder. Damn scorpion must of scraped my shoulder.
"Come on, we've gotta move." Cloud ordered.

Cloud's P.O.V
"Go, go, go!" Barret shouted at us. Me and Y/N were already rushing up the stairs to keep up with Barret but eventually lost him. We were also blocked by Shinra bots along the way, but we took care of them.
Y/N and I finally caught up to Barret and Jessie. Out of no where, a huge pipe fell down of no where. Plunging, me, Y/N, and Jessie away from the exit. I grabbed on a piece of wire, when Y/N and Jessie were stuck under a rock. I quickly made my way over to them to help them.
"You ok?" I asked them.
"Do I look ok!? Help a girl out, would ya!?" Jessie shouted at me. I lifted the rock as Jessie climbed her way out.
"My hero!"
"I could use some help too," Y/N grunted.
"Oh, sorry Y/N," Jessie replied.
We went over to the rock and lifted it up as Y/N pulled herself out. She didn't say anything but just glared at us. Awkwardly. "Hey! We'll link up over there! Look after Jessie!" Barret called out to us and pointed to another exit. Jessie went over to where some stairs were and said, "Come this way! This route should lead us straight to Barret! Probably!"
We followed Jessie as she directed us towards the exit. "Don't look back! Let's go, let's go, let's go! We're running out of time!" God I had enough of her rambling.
"Shut up and climb. You're not helping," I said to her. I would have sworn I herd Y/N laugh a little bit.
"Sorry, It's just- It keeps me focused! I'll freak out if I don't talk!" Jessie explained.
"Have it your way," Y/N replied to Jessie.
We eventually got caught up to Barret and the rest of the gang as we successfully made our way out of the Reactor. We herd and felt the reactor explode into bits. I can't even imagine how much of a mess it made outside. Nevertheless, what's done is done.
We all ended up in a pipe system in sector 8. All you could see where damaged concrete from the explosion. I had a feeling we were lost.
"Looks like we made it." Barret stated.
"And with nothing but a few scratches to show-" He was cut off by an explosion from the reactor, shaking the ground. Y/N fell onto me from the quake and I quickly caught her. "You ok?" I whispered to her. She nodded and stood back up. I should probably make sure if she's all right after we get out of here.
"Think you might've overdone it?" Barret asked Jessie.
"I followed the instructions to the letter. Maybe it triggered a reaction with the mako?" Jessie explained.
"Well, let's hope this city's still in one piece."
"But the planet's what matters, right?" Biggs stated.
Just then, another quake occurred. "Shit," Y/N said holding her shoulder. Is she hurt? I wonder.
"Anyway, let's get going. We in sector 8?" Jessie asked.
"That'd be just down there!" Wedge pointed.
"All right then, Lead the way," Barret ordered Wedge.
We started following Wedge in hopes of a way out. I wanted to ask Y/N if she was all right and if she was wounded. But, I was cut off by Biggs coming over to Y/N to speak with her. Damn it.
"Hey Y/N! Are you feeling ok? You don't look so good."
"I'm just hanging on I guess. How about you?" she chuckled.
"Same, one thing for sure is I need to take a shower after we get out of here."
"Do you stink that bad?" Y/N asked sarcastically.
He sniffed himself and cringed his face, "I guess so."
Y/N laughed, "Must be Shinra-" She was cut off by yet another quake. Biggs hold her back for "protection" I guess. Why am I getting mad over this.
"I felt that one in my guts.." Wedge said.
"We need to get out of this place," Barret stated, with that everyone started running. I also looked down at my hand and noticed blood on my glove. 'huh I don't remember bleeding anywhere,' I thought nothing of it and just let it slide.

Y/N's P.O.V
Finally, we made it outside in sector 8. We were greeted by large amounts of damage from the reactor and an announcer calling for an evacuation.
"W-What the-" I said in shock not having the right word's to say. The amount or damage is unbelievable.
"This couldn't been us...could it?" Biggs said.
"But what if it was..?" Wedge stumbled.
"What's done is done," Cloud blurted. I couldn't believe that he said that, but once again he's right.
"Merc's right," Barret stated. "It ain't pretty, but we can't stop now. This was just the first reactor. And the planet won't be safe till we get the rest. Y'all gotta look at the bigger picture here. Nothing worth fighting for was ever won without sacrifice. Though you may not be crying out, I know you're in pain- just like the planet. But it's okay. 'cause I'm here for you! To help take the load off your shoulders! "
Nice pep talk Barret. Now my shoulder hurts even more.
We were ordered to split up and meet each other back at the train. I didn't feel comfortable going alone, so I stayed with Cloud. We were pretty much silent until we were interrupted by Jessie, again. But, she kind of gave me a look like, 'get out, I want to talk to Cloud alone.'
I sighed. "I...will go look for anyway out.." I said walking away. "Y/N wait-"
"Let her go Cloud. We have an exchange to take care of." Jessies voice faded away as I walked away.
I walked for a while around the area. Mainly, helping the local citizens find their way through the madness. I was still waiting for Cloud to come back, but I guess he was still talking to Jessie. I don't know what I was feeling back there, but it was a mix of anger, sadness, and emptiness. Just thinking about Cloud being alone with her boils my blood. I have no idea what this new emotion was, but it's making my chest hurt for sure. Also my wound, started to hurt even more and more by the minute. 'I'll patch you up once I get back,' I said to myself.
I went back towards the area to check on Cloud and see if he didn't get into trouble. I eventually found him, but he was just staring out into the open. I walked over to him. "Hey, care to explain what happened between you and Jessie back there?" No response.
I got confused and walked over to him. "Hey. Can you hear me?" He was acting like he was seeing something invisible and was ready to attack him. "How.." he said.
"How what? What's going on Cloud?" I kept getting his attention. Until, I felt someone's hand hit the back of my neck, making me fall and pass out.
"Long time no see, my darling."
"Sephiroth?"
I woke up in a blank black place where there was nothing but darkness. Hearing Sephiroth's voice. I looked up to see Sephiroth smiling at me. I quickly got up and backed up away from him.
"H-How? I thought you died?"
"Did I?"
"No...It's just a dream, isn't it?"
"There is no reason to believe this is a dream, my dear. I'm just here for a simple favor. Our planet is slowly dying bit by bit. And your responsible for the planet. If the planet dies completely, you would loose everything that was ever close to you. Your parent, your best friend, even your lover."
"My lover? How do I-"
Sephiroth came closer to me and shushed me by putting his finger on my lips. "You'll find soon enough," He giggled. I slapped his hand and backed away from him.
"The favor I ask of you is to take care of yourself. Take care of those your close to you. You're going to need it."
"Get out of my head..."
"I'm not in your head my dearest Y/N.."
"GET OUT OF MY FUCKING HEAD!!!"
I went in to punch him and as soon I was about too, I woke up in the streets of sector 8. I stood up and herd Sephiroth laughing.
"Very good my student...As expected..."
I looked around seeing Sephiroth wasn't to be found. I sighed. "Whatever that was all about. I should probably keep moving."
I wondered around sector 8 looking for Cloud, couldn't find him anywhere. I then looked over seeing Shinra guards and dogs surrounded the area. Just my luck. I was hiding away from the guards until I noticed a guard dog growling at a little girl who looked like she was 8 years old.
The dog started running towards the girl, I summoned my spear and ran over to the little girl and stopped the dog from biting the girl. "Run along now. You'll be safe with your parent's," I said to her. She began running away as I killed the guard dog.
"Hey! You there! Drop your weapon immanently!" I didn't listen and continued to battle my way through the guards. It felt like more and more kept coming when I was making my way to the train station. I lost my way and ended up at a rail road track over the side of the area. I herd the train coming and decided to just jump onto the train. "Wait! Stop!" a guard ordered. But I just kept running until I jumped on the caboose of the train.
I entered into the train cart and was greeted by Cloud, Barret and his gang. "Y/N there you are!" Biggs greeted me.
"Looks like I'm a little late." I said.

(A/N: Yeeeeeeeee Chapter 5! I'm sorry if this sounded a little rushed, I didn't want it to get boring quickly and repeat every dialog that happened in FF VII Remake. I thought I would sum it up a little bit.
Also, I don't know if for chapter 6 I should recap everything that happened with Cloud in chapter 2 in the game. Like Jessie, Sephiroth, and Aerith encounters. Or just move on with the story but briefly mention what happened with Cloud. Idk I'm still debating. Anyways, I hope you guys enjoyed! Stay Mossy!)
