Chapter 7

Cassidy and I got ready for the beach in less than 10 minutes. We left our hair natural and didn't apply any makeup, we just put on our sunglasses. My sunglasses were shaped like hearts!! Anyways, I picked my neon pink bikini and put it on, and I I slid some jeans shorts on too.

We got to the beach and met my brother and Hunter there. We found them in our usual spot, by the beach volley ball.

"You ready to surf?" Hunter asked is laughing.

"You bet!" Cassidy said laying her stuff down.

"S-sure!" I said hesitantly.

"Come on! It will be fun!!" Hunger said nudging me in the arm.

Hunter is being so normal! He is treating me like nothing happened between us. Maybe he was drunk and didn't mean any of it. Stop it Mali! Stop it! I can't let a boy get to me like this! It was just one night.
I'm so stupid for thinking Hunter actually liked me...

"Mali.. Earth to Mali!" Brent said waving a hand in front of my face.

"Huh, what?!" I said jumping.

"I said get your suit on. What were you thinking about?" He questioned.

"Nothing!" I said zipping up my suit.

Here goes nothing...

"Surfing wasn't that bad, was it?" Hunter said laughing.

"Oh really? I am soaking wet from falling off every single time! I couldn't even stand on it once!" I said crossing my arms over my chest.

He just started laughing.

"Whatever.." I said rolling my eyes.
I was done with surfing so I took my wet suit off.

"You're done?" Hunter said sounding a little disappointed.

"Yes! I'm going to lay here and relax.." I said putting my sunglasses over my eyes.

"Okay.." He said walking off.

I watched them as they all surfed. Cassidy was really good! Hunter and Brent were like pros at it too! I wish I could surf.

I saw Hunter coming in from the water, and he sat down next to me.

"Do you want me to give you lessons?" He asked.

"In what?"

"Surfing, what else?" He said laughing.

"Well school starts in a couple days.."

"How about once a week and on Saturdays I'll help you." He said smiling.

"Okay!!" I said.

He pulled me into a hug. We just stared at each other until I broke the silence.

"Um," I coughed," you're really good!"

"Thanks.." He said scratching the back of his neck.

We sat there for a whole not saying anything.

"Wanna ditch and go get something to eat on the beach somewhere?" He asked looking at me.

"Y-yeah, I-i guess." I said, actually more like stuttered.

"Great!"

We got up and started walking towards some beach food trucks.

It was very awkward silence.
We just walked beside each other not saying a word, but he finally spoke up.

"So you excited for the bonfire tomorrow night?" He asked.

"Yeah! I can't wait! It's going to be so much-" I stopped talking.

"What? What are you looking at?" He questioned trying to see what I was looking at.

"It's him. I have to hide!" I said getting behind Hunter, which was very easy. Seeing that I was 5'5 and he was 6'1.

"Who?"

"My ex boyfriend!"

"So what?" He asked.

"I never told anyone why we broke up.."
