Fresh Start

Chapter 12

Authors Pov-

So far there time at the Zoo has been going great. They visited the pandas, lions, giraffe, and the gorillas which seemed to be Lillys favorite.

This time, no fans stopped Camila but waved and said hello as they passed which Camila and Lilly appreciated. Max was also having a nice time following them and making sure they were safe.

Lilly liked the zoo since she was able to feed the animals and had some fresh fruit herself. Camila also was able to get Lilly in the koala cage so she can pet them and people adored it.

The lights started to turn on as it got darker outside, Camila asked Lilly which animal she wanted to see next and it would be the last, she had trouble deciding but went with the Penguins.

They walked to the Penguins exhibit which was inside, it was cold with a fresh breeze hitting there skin, there was calming sea music that the penguins liked, and seats where you could see penguins diving into the freezing water.

Camila sat Lilly on her lap and they watched carefully and silently before Lilly noticed a penguin and a penguin mom together.

Camila was curious at which penguin Lilly was looking at since she noticed her expression changing, it was the mommy penguin and the baby penguin.

"You know Lilly, your mom kept me as a secret to protect you. I would've done the same if it was up to me..." Camila started to say.

Lilly looked over to Camila, "you would've?" Camila nodded, "Why?"

Camila sighed and looked at the penguins, "Because it's what mothers do, they will do anything to make sure there child is happy... let me ask you one thing, are you happy? Right now, when you found out that i was your mommy... are you happy?"

It was a tough question for Lilly to answer, especially now that she's growing and putting more thought into it.

Was she happy?

"Im happy with you, right now... i was angry at mommy, she lied to me."

"You can't be mad at her forever. At least, she doesn't deserve to have her child mad at her even if she knew the consequences with you finding out sooner or later... your mommy does everything for you, she raised you alone and you should be thankful for that.. it doesn't matter that she lied to you, it matters why she lied and it was to protect you..." Camila knows that if she wasn't able to see Lilly again, she wants to make sure that Lilly forgives Lauren.

"I love my mommy." Lilly sighed.

"Who doesn't?" Camila laughed.

Lauren's Pov-

I was pacing back and forth in front of my house door. It's currently 8pm and Lilly isn't back yet, i've been scrolling on every Camila fan page to see any updates which is kinda stupid but i have to make sure she's okay.

So far, i've seen pictures of them entering a restaurant? A art museum? Disneyland, and the zoo. Wow, they did a lot in one day.

I don't know what to tell Camila, i mean no point in lying anymore so it's just the truth. I know she's going to be furious at me and i hate to expect that because we had such a great time last sunday... i would've thought that maybe we could've done something.

A car engine is what snapped me back into the real world, i ran to the door and opened it, I saw a black SUV with tinted windows pull up, some man opened the car door and that's when i saw Lilly running out of the car and came straight to my arms.

"Oh Lilly.." I breathed out, feeling her little body crush into mine, "Happy birthday."

"Thank you mommy." Lilly smiled and kissed my cheek, looking better than before.
