Chapter 17

Everyone was hungry so we went hunting first.

"Do you think we will get anything?" Dean asked.

"I don't know. It's winter so maybe a rabbit or two." I said

"We are going to starve." Dean said worried.

"It's fine there are ponds around here. We can fish." I said.

"Yeah ok." He said

"Hey Elena!" Kate said running towards us.

"Hey, what's up?" I asked.

"Don't think I forgot." She said smiling.

"Forgot what?" I said picking berries.

"Your birthday! It's June 18th." She yelled excitedly. "You are 16 now!"

"Oh yeah! Thanks Kate!" I can't believe I forgot my own birthday. That's just sad. I was laughing so hard when Dean looked at me with a ' what the heck' expression.

"I've been busy." I explained to him. Then we all see a black and red dragon flying toward us from the Everlasting Mountain.

"Jake use your power. Put us in darkness!" I yelled. He looked up and immediately did as I said.

"Everyone quiet!"I yelled. It got quiet so fast the dragon screeched because it was confused on where we were. It left after 20 minutes of circling us and yelling.

"Wow that was terrifying." said Christen.

"Is everyone alright?"

"Ya I think so." Dean said looking around.

"Hey look Chris!" I yelled. Everyone looked at the path.

"Hey sorry I was hunting what happened?"

"Dragon." That was all I needed to say. So we left the forest and now we have to cross the Deadly Prairie. There are unknown things living in the tall grass. I could tell they were scared to go in there.

"So who is going first?" one of the betas said.

"How about you thanks so much for volunteering." I said.

"But I..."

"Go please we are all waiting." I sassed him. He went in and dissapeared.

"Is he ok?" Chase asked.

"I have no clue." I said. just then he ran out.

" Guys it's a maze!" He said shocked. I went in after Dean and Chris.

"What the heck."

"Who built this. It's very old."

"Probably a wizard or something." I said touching a wall. I felt a burst of energy

"Woah Elena what did you do? You touched it and your eyes glowed." Dean asked.

" I just touched it. Here try it." So Chris and Dean go to touch it. The same thing happens.

"This is all to weird. What is going on?" Chris asked.
