Noticing The Confusion

The only reason I notice that Kieran has been absent for a week straight is because I have been contemplating non-stop since my meeting at guidance actually tutoring him. Like where is he? It's not like him to miss this much school especially with try-outs this close. All the guys always practice outside the week before try-outs together and he is always there. Since blocking his number seeing him in person was my only way of communicating with him, because there was no way I was going to unblock it- not with my level of stubbornness. I guess it has come to this.

"Hi brigid."

"What do you want." She spits at me.

"Ah so lovely to speak to you, always."

She rolls her eyes at that line and starts to look the other way as she files her nails.

"Um so anyway, I was wondering if you knew where Kieran was?"

"Why do you want to know?!" She furrows her brows at me.

"Um uh because I have a question I need to ask him."

She raises her brows and clicks her tongue at me.

"You can ask me and I will relay the info."

"I would really just like to ask him myself."

"Why must you follow him around like a sad little puppy dog, it's pretty pathetic."

"I do not follow him around." I scoff.

"Sure, you're literally obsessed with him. He tells me all the time. It's actually pretty sad now that I think about it, get over him. He doesn't like you, and he is with me."

"WHAT?! He tells you that?!!?!?" I yell.

"Woah girl chill, you are yelling."

"I cannot believe him." I mutter underneath my breath.

"Anyway, wish I could chat with you longer, but he actually just texted me that he is coming into school so ta-ta."

Does she honestly think I am obsessed with him? She can't be serious!! I hate that man. That's it I can't tutor him. Tori comes to my locker as I am changing my books for periods 4-9.

"Hey girl!!! Are you ready for try-outs next week?!"

"Hmm NO." I whine.

"Oh my god, you will be fine."

"I'm not worried about making the team, but I need to get captain."

"Since when did you care about being captain?"

"Since Duke recommend it!"

"OMG."

"YA, so I already signed up for Landy's extra coaching but there are already 13 girls signed up."

"Ya, but she will still see the extra effort and get a closer look at your skills."

"Ugh okay you're right."

"Anywho! More importantly, you're coming later right?"

"Coming where?"

"To Katie's party."

"Oh I totally forgot!!"

"Low, its Friday how do you forget things like this."

"My heads been everywhere, but yes of course I'll be there, I need a drink especially before next week starts."

Everyone is at Katie's it's like the whole school was invited. I go straight to the cooler and pick up a white claw then head to the bathroom. I straighten out my red crop top, and light washed skinny jeans. My hair is half up half down and curled, and I did my makeup. I hear some knocking and it's my girls Elle and Tori!
