Rotten Roses

Chapter 1

Year 2021

Rosaria opened her brown eyes and blinked at the sunlight streaming through her window. She looked around and figured out that she slept on her table while she was working on her thesis paper. She grabbed her smudgy glasses and placed it on the bridge her nose to see the amount of work she have completed. Fortunately, she has completed all lot of paper work which made her feel less burdened. 

Even though she has almost an year more to submit her thesis, she had to make sure that she completes the draft before the internal exam, so that can refer and recheck the paper work. Thankfully, her class for today starts around 11 am. 

Being a forensic psychology student has made her childhood dreams come true by learning about crime and everything about it. That's why, with no leniency, she would dedicate her best to everything she does. Therefore, she never got any chance to date or to be in a relationship. It's not like she is interested anyway.

Rose then got up from her seat and walked straight to her bathroom to get ready for the day. After that, she checked her phone, that marked the time to be 10 am and prepared herself to look presentable. Today, she had to look the best because there are some special guests who's taking a seminar at the campus.

 She has been loving the investigation show a company called Abyss, have been working on. Her senior, Ash recently joined the team and he made a good remark on few students from her department of forensic. And she is eternally thankful to be one of those few students. After the seminar, they'd have a personal meeting with the whole investigation team to take in one of the student into the crew.

She is fairly confident because she has prepared for it ever since the campus recruitment news came out and there is no way that she would loose this chance to work with her senior... and her idol, Roy.

Despite of being the one behind the camera, who shoots other investigators during the case, her attention always fell upon Roy. It's not that she's romantically into him but he's a great role model with a lot of wisdom in this field. And not to mention, he is just 25.

Rose sighed as she looked all around her one room apartment. Many cans of sugared soda was trashed around her working table, her closet was piled up with clothes and her bed looked messy.

"I guess, I'll deal with this after class.." Rose stated and sighed before grabbing her bag and keys. She then wore her shoe and walked off from her tiny apartment.

Rose stood in front of the seminar hall after attending all the classes she needed to. Right now, she's waiting for her friend, Moya to show up. Rose, soon saw her friend's silhouette at distance and waved. The cheerful girl ran towards Rose and greeted "Heyaa! Did I make you wait for long?" she asked. 

"Nope. Let's go in before others grab the front seat." Rose said and literally dragged Moya inside.

"Chill girly, you'll get to work with Master Roy anyway, why do you have to obsess over the front seat?" Moya teased her friend. Rose rolled her eyes and didn't bother to respond since she know that Moya has a point, technically.

The pair then grabbed two seats at the front. Rose tucked her chocolate-brown hair behind her ear and waited for the seminar to start. The lights, suddenly dimmed around the hall, and focused at the stage.

She left out a deep breathe while thinking 'Here we go.'  The crew, finally stepped onto the stage. There were three of them but her eyes automatically feel upon Roy who had this aura that literally screams power. She always admired people who had such aura, no wonder he's such a good investigator.

"Hello! Good evening to all! Few of you might know me. I'm Ash." he said and everyone clapped. Then Allen greeted "Hi, I'm Allen." Everyone clapped but boys started to scream. Moya turned back and rolled her eyes, which made Rose laugh.

Rose' gaze slowly drifted to the one she's been waiting for. It's not just her but many girls including Moya got excited in a second. Rose held her breathe until he spoke.....

"Hello all. I'm Roy."
