Minor tw? Drinking, smoking, mild violence
Upcoming chaps too...When Eli Clark was 10, one of his biggest dreams was to become the world's greatest detective. His parents would always want to persuade him to idealize another job occupation, like a lawyer, banker or even a doctor. They did not like the idea of having their only son risk his life for a corrupted system. yes Sure they were against him becoming a detective hoping he would later on drop his 'fantasy'....that day never came.
But of course the dream wasn't going to complished itself, the idea of sacrifices has always been engraved in his head. Like that time he risked a whole operation for a quick snack down the corner. He honestly didn't think it was a big deal but others disagreed with him and even got a scolding once they completed their mission. Not that he hated working as a detective, this was his dream job or at least he thinks. With a well paid salary he has nothing to worry about. Funny thing is that he doesn't even have anything or anyone to spend it on. He has everything he's asked for..... then why does he feel empty. He felt lonely
He wants to feel loved
Although he did have a fiancé at one point, she, Gertrude had left him. He's never done anything bad to her, at least he had thought before Gertrude had confessed her true feelings. She had felt neglected by her own fiancé, always prioritizing his work before her. Having to cancel plans, dinners and they hardly even spoke anymore. It got to the point where she would beg Eli to come home but he always had a reason to excuse himself from her. Constantly making trips to the police department pleading them to unburden Eli from this hefty amount of work, she would cry herself to sleep wondering what she did wrong to force Eli to make him avoid her. Did he even love her? Why did her heart hurt so much if the man she was with really did love her unconditionally. Why didn't she feel happy?
A week later Clark received a handwritten letter signed by Gertrude speaking of her experience while living with him and how terrible of a fiancé he was. Not that he declined his behavior towards her, Eli wished he could have done more to appreciate his beloved Gertrude, now that she was completely gone he didn't realize how cold his house was without her.
He fell into depression, constantly being burned out. Mentally exhausted and had no motivation.
Lady truth and Mr.inference would often point out his state of being and constantly joke about it. They would always try to brighten the mood to see their friend happy once more. Although he would smile at the cheesy jokes they would make, he kept distancing himself from the others and talking cases on his own. Eli would refuse to get help from others, constantly avoiding others.
He didn't want to hurt the other around him.... Or at least he thought, he had come to the realization that he,himself, is afraid of getting hurt again.
He wanted out of this living nightmare, it seems to be constantly eating at him to death.
He couldn't stand to live in the same town, constantly being reminded of his failures. Even if it meant leaving his whole life behind, although most importantly his friends.
It's said that, blood is thicker than water, meeting Naib and Emma has seemed to changed that, he would do anything to keep them safe. Even if it meant him dying for them. His mentally did not seem to help out, he knew if he stayed, sooner or later one of them would get hurt but his actions.
Without a word he said his farewells,
He knew—they knew what his actual intentions were. Before leaving a small whispered seems to escape from Emma's lips, just loud enough for Eli to hear. And that's when lady truth would infamously give Eli his icon title
RecluseWith one last small smile he left...
