Iona woke up in the middle of the night and felt something wet in between her legs. She sat up and pulled the covers off her and saw blood, a lot of it. She shook Chris awake as she started to panic and cry. Chris woke up and saw what was going on.

'Shit. I need to take you to the hospital. Come on get changed real quick.' Chris helped her up and she went ahead and changed and so did Chris. They drove to the ER and was immediately taken to the back room followed by Chris.

'How far along is she?' The ER doctor asked Chris.

'Four and a half months.' He answered.

'Chris, please don't leave me.' Iona said as Chris walked over to her.

'I won't.' Chris smiled at her hiding the panic that he's in.

'Ms. Yuel, we have to do an ultrasound okay.' The doctor said and Iona nodded.

An ER tech brought in the sonogram machine after thirty minutes and the doctor started. Iona had her eyes closed while holding Chris' hand. The doctor didn't say anything while doing the scan. Once he was done, he excused himself and went out of the room. After a few moments the doctor came in and put a cup and a bottle of water on the counter.

'Ms. Yuel. There's no easy way to deliver this news...' the doctor said but got cut off by Iona.

'You don't have to tell me. I already know.' She had a blank expression on her face.

'You have options, you can undergo a D&C or take this medication to complete the end of pregnancy.' The doctor said.

'If I take the medication, can I leave tonight too?' Iona asked.

'I advice for you to be admitted but if you think you can handle it at home then it's your decision.' The doctor explained.

'Iona, I think it's better for you to...' Chris said but got cut off.

'Give me the medication. But I want to leave soon.' She said.

The doctor gave her the pill and she took it. She was advised that she needs to stay another hour just to make sure there were no side effects that will happen. After the hour was done, a nurse came in with her discharge papers and she signed it then left. She was silent on the drive back to the hotel. Once they got back, Chris helped her and she just went straight back to sleep. It's five in the morning but Chris knew he had to let Sebastian know. He walked out into the hallway and called him.

'Hey, man.' Sebastian answered.

'I'm sorry to wake you up so early.' Chris said.

'Is everything alright? What's going on?' Sebastian asked

'I'm sorry man, but Iona lost the baby.' Chris choked back tears. Sebastian didn't answer and just hung up after a minute. Chris wiped his tears and headed back inside.

Iona got done with the end of pregnancy and went into deep depression. Chris asked for some emergency time off and given the reason, they approved it. Iona stayed in bed the whole time, she didn't eat, she didn't drink. She'd spend her days asleep and her nights awake, sitting on the same spot by the window. Chris did his best to be there for her and never left her side.

Few weeks passed and she showed signs of being alright. On the night of February second, she gathered all her things and left the hotel. Leaving a note for Chris that says:

Tophy,

I'm sorry to leave without saying goodbye. Thank you for everything. I had so much fun knowing you and getting to be your best friend. I'll cherish all the memories we've made. Please know that I love you and will never forget about you. I left a letter for Sebastian and Tom on your dresser, please make sure to give it to them. I love you.
