the next morning mikasa woke up holding closely onto annie. she woke up in peace, unlike every other day. she slept in peace unlike every other night. the past few days her nights were filled with peaceful sleep instead of bad dreams and anxiety attacks. having annie there really made her feel at ease.
she admired her eyelashes while she was still asleep, looking like a sleeping beauty. slowly she placed her hand on annie's cheek. her eyes wandered on the blonde's lips when all of a sudden she felt herself throbbing down there.
before something inevitable was bound to happen, mikasa decided to remove herself from annie. she went into the bathroom and took a quick, cold shower. when she came back, annie was changing. mikasa too was wrapped in only a towel.
"oh, hi" annie quickly buttoned up her shirt.
"..morning"
"so? did you sleep well?"
"i guess" the girl went over to her wardrobe and took out some clothes
"me too"
mikasa forgot to take her stuff into the bathroom when she took a shower and now she thought of a way to change without making it awkward. she took out her stuff and was about to go back into the bathroom.
"you can change here" annie said all of a sudden. it was a risky thing to say but she thought about it beforehand.
"i mean if you don't feel uncomfortable.. "
mikasa turned around facing annie.
"i won't look" the blonde added.
annie turned around and started gathering her school books. she heard the sound of the wet towel dropping on the floor. her ears flushed red.
every movement of the other girl was clearly perceptible. the cotton of her panties brushing her skin. the clipping of her bra. the sound of mikasa's belt gliding through the loop drove annie crazy.
she's not wearing a skirt today.
it was the thought that crossed annie's mind first.
"you're not packing your stuff..?"
mikasa totally caught the girl off guard. she didn't even realize that all she did was listening to mikasa's movements.
"oh, uhh.. i was just thinking about my schedule."
annie finished packing everything up and swung her back around her shoulder.
was she going to leave now? or should she wait for mikasa? she was so very confused that she just took out her phone before making it any awkward.

she asked in the group chat with reiner and berthold.
she didn't get an answer right away but it didn't matter. mikasa seemed to be finished.
"ready to leave?"
annie shot her face up to mikasa.
"yeah, sure" she said casually, putting her phone away. in reality she felt so happy that mikasa actually asked that.
when mikasa turned away she couldn't help but smile.
both left for class.

last period was over and annie met up with the boys at the lockers.
"change of plans. let's go in the evening" reiner said without even greeting the blonde.
