class went by pretty fast and the two girls got ready in their room. the boys invited them over and it was the first time all 6 were spending time together. also they would get to know armin.
they gathered in the boys' room and the two girls each shook hands with armin. then annie went over to reiner's bed where him and berthold already sat. mikasa sat down with armin and eren on eren's bed.
they all had much fun watching movies, talking and playing games. since class started for the girls at 9, they didn't intend to stay too long.
"it's getting late, mikasa. i will take my leave now, you can stay here."
obviously it would be awkward if they left separately but annie didn't want mikasa to think that she is demanding her to leave together with her.
"let's leave together then.." mikasa suggested and the two girls picked up their stuff and took their leave.
annie walked a few steps behind mikasa.
"are you finished with your sketch yet?"
to annie's surprise it was mikasa who started a conversation first this time.
"uh, no. not yet. i will work more on it tomorrow. i will also start using the acrylics tomorrow probably"
"ah, cool"
a few minutes of silence again. the way to their room felt longer than usual.
"have you already taken care of your mattress?" annie broke the silence again.
"not yet. i was planning to do that right now actually. since the laundromat is open 24 hours anyway"
"oh, then i will come with you"
annie didn't really think when she said that. it's nothing bad really but the way she knew mikasa she would probably decline.
"it's fine. i will go by myself."
this time annie thought a few seconds about her response.
"what if something happens? let me come with you"
"i'm saying it's fine."
"you're a girl and a pretty one at that, it's dangerous for you to wander around on your own at night.."
of course mikasa was really pretty but annie initially planned to leave out that part. it already slipped out before she realized though.
"p-..pretty??"
"whatever. i'm just coincidentally going to the laundromat the same time you are."
mikasa smiled but looked away in hopes of annie not noticing.
they arrived.
the taller girl took a look at the board and checked if there was a check next to her name.
she seemed frustrated.
"still not done?" annie leaned against the wall.
"no. probably cuz they don't work on weekends. let's check again tomorrow"
this time it was mikasa who realized too late what she said. she unconsciously included annie even though she was so persistent about going alone just a few minutes ago.
annie smirked, not even bothering to hide her amusement.
"so i guess we will sleep together again." annie winked at the other girl.
"fuck off"
"well, i'm not letting you sleep on the floor. you can use the bed, i'll make myself comfortable on the floor"
"are you an idiot?" mikasa glared at annie. "sleeping on the floor is everything but comfortable" she finished.
"why do you care?" the blonde questioned.
"...i don't."
"oh? then there won't be a problem with me sleeping on the floor."
"then i will also sleep on the floor." mikasa provoked.
"we will see" the other girl smirked and the two walked back to their room.
they arrived and threw their stuff on their desks.
"we have class at 9, right?" mikasa asked while getting shorts and a shirt out of her wardrobe.
"mhm"
when annie came out of the bathroom 20 minutes later, mikasa already sat on the floor with blankets and pillows.
"...what the fuck are you doing?"
annie didn't think mikasa would actually plan to sleep on the floor. at the same time though she kind of predicted it already.
"i thought i already told you i'd be sleeping on the floor"
annie scoffed.
she then proceeded to sit right next to mikasa, making sure to be extra close.
"w-what are you doing??"
"i thought i already told you i'd be sleeping on the floor"
mikass growled.
"you're so stupid. you have a comfortable bed and you still sleep here on the cold floor."
"and what makes you think i'd let you sleep here? you just admitted yourself it's cold. so let's sleep together in my bed now, you will catch a cold otherwise."
mikasa didn't answer. she just looked away. her body was hot. annie was definitely too close. she wanted to feel more of annie's closeness.
annie starred at mikasa. she looked like she was thinking about something. mikasa starred back.
"what...?" she raised an eyebrow.
annie shifted and suddenly started lifting mikasa up.
"w-what the fuck?? stop touching me! let me down!"
annie carried mikasa, who wrapped her hands around annie's head for hold, to her bed. she then slowly let her down onto the bed. annie used the few seconds of mikasa staring speechlessly at her to get the pillows and the blanket.
suddenly, mikasa lifted herself up to leave the bed but annie climbed up in time and straddled her.
"h-hey!"
annie pushed her down.
"you're too close..!"
"mikasa."
annie starred deeply into her eyes. mikasa got speechless at the sight.
"don't leave this bed."
mikasa didn't even know what to say.
a few seconds passed.
"...i won't leave, so get off of me"
"will not"
"what?"
"i will stay like this until you fall asleep" the blonde said while lowering herself onto mikasa.
said mikasa felt annie's breath on her skin. it was very soft and quiet. she also felt her calm heartbeat. mikasa's heart on the other hand was racing. so much, she hoped for annie not to notice.
she wanted her to stay like that forever.
of course it wasn't mikasa to fall asleep first though. how could she, when annie layed on top of her like that?
as soon as annie fell asleep, she placed her hands on annie's back. one hand started playing with her hair and soon mikasa too fell asleep.
