happy bday, sunoo ! you deserve all the love and happiness in the world.

Love was terrifying.

A wolf cunningly dressed in sheep's wool, waiting to bear its canines until you were fully submerged, and the moment you do notice, you're way past the point of no return. It has a way of inviting you, almost like a mirage in the middle of a bleak desert, enticing yet all too good to be true.

There was something about it that was filled with sheer ambiguity, something that was difficult to place your entire trust in. Love was anything but definite, and that was the sole reason that kept holding you back from the pursuit of it.

But sometimes, a leap of faith was all you needed.

Something to propel you forward. A force that could undeniably keep you going, or something that could serve as a powerful momentum so that you wouldn't even consider the thought of running back from where you came from.

Or maybe, what you needed all along was someone

Someone with endearing eyes, a warm smile, along with a mouth that only knew how to speak of gentle words. A person's gaze that would caress you warmly, almost like the sweltering heat of the morning sun.

And that person would undeniably be someone like Kim Sunoo.

"Are you almost done with that?"

Your eyes darted to the boy approaching you from behind, gaze fixated on your figure that was preoccupied with the sink, busily washing the grubby dishes that have been sitting there for far longer than you would have liked to admit.

"Why? Want to be a helping hand?" You tease, as the teen shakes his head in disapproval.

"No thanks, I'll be patiently waiting for you here." For a moment you're reminded of his words a while back, pretty black orbs which, – encompassed nothing but the entire universe within them – stared back at you, patiently, with an unwavering smile that seemed to reach the corner of his eyes. You don't have to rush, [Y/N]. When it comes to you, I'm ready to wait.

His words still continue to imprint themselves in your mind up until this day, the same sentence, yet far more different context. You wonder how your mind has managed to find its way back to those words once more.

But now that you thought about it, he didn't lie. Months later, he's still by your side, and as foolish as it seems, still as hopeful as he was in the beginning.
