In Battery City, California, Better Living Industries reigns supreme. The company started small, offering a solution to all your problems. All at the price of taking one seemingly innocent little pill.
They offered the ultimate solution to everyone's problem, eventually killing all diversity in the city and slowly taking over, not only Battery City, but also the surrounding areas. Slowly the world grew less and less diverse as everyone put to much trust into the government ran agency.

In the summer of 2019, a group of citizens fed up with the company fled the city. They survived, hacking BL/ind vending machines and raiding warehouses for supplies.
This group of four citizens became known as Killjoys, government terrorists who would stop at nothing to take down Better Living and return diversity to the once beautiful city.
Slowly others follow in their path, quitting the drugs they were told they needed to survive, strapping on a mask or pulling up a bandana and sneaking into the desert in search of some kind of freedom.
Y/N L/N was one of the first few to follow. Most of her family had been exterminated, due to the fact that they had refused the pill forced upon the cities inhabitants. The night before her scheduled extermination she pulled on her leather jacket, strapped on her mask and ran off into the desert, carrying with her only a few cans of mixed vegetables and fruit, water, and the clothes on her back.
She never planned to return back to the city.
