"Pack your things
Leave somehow
Blackbird song
Is over nowMouths are dry
River runs
Hands are tied
Preachers son
Pack your things
Leave somehow
Blackbird song
Is over nowDon't be scared
I'm still here
No more time
For crying dear"Blackbird Song by Lee DeWyze
Dany
Stupid.
That's all she thought as she sat in the gas station toilet with the pregnancy box in her hand. Dany had peed on not only one stick but she had held it in and peed on the second just to be sure. But a part of her was pretty certain by now. Her period was late and she had been throwing up all morning when she had woken up in the past few days.
She had even thrown up in the car as her dad went to drop her off at school. Usually he would have been angry, so angry that he would scream at her. Possibly to even shove her roughly at her not being disciplined enough to have enough etiquette to roll up the window and hurl outside of the car. But he was in good spirits because the reason for them being at her high school at 7 am instead of 7:45 like usual was because she was to be named valedictorian and receive the illustrious grant award for top achievers in her class.
It made her happy because she had worked hard to maintain an average of an A+ throughout all her subjects. It made her father ecstatic like it was he who had done it when she could argue that he would have been the biggest reason that she might not get it in the first place.
But celebrations would have to wait because her stupidity had gotten her in trouble, not precisely a mistake on her part but mostly her stupidity in trusting the wrong people that is. Dany had always made fun of teen moms and how silly or immature they were for being pregnant at such a young age, now she had to bite her tongue waiting for that inevitable "plus" that would soon reflect on the stick. Her mom had been pregnant with her elder brother when she was almost three years younger than Dany is now.
With all that being said the fault was not on her though. Many factors led her to this point.
The first being her dumb jock of a boyfriend. Drogo was the High School athlete, playing every single sport from rugby to his favorite sport surfing. He was tall, buff and commanding and almost all the girls in school loved him or wanted to be loved by him. But he had not been the brightest lamb in the shed and whilst he wasn't shockingly stupid, his grades in his previous year weren't good enough to take him to a half decent college. So despite him being a year ahead of her in school. He had to come back and repeat his final year again.
And that is how she had caught his attention, Dany knew she was pretty; she inherited her mother's beauty from the blonde hair to the blue eyes. Most of her siblings were much the same with her brothers adopting their father's sandy blonde hair. Many a boy had been interested in her but she had spurned a lot of them even the smart and handsome ones which was her type.
She had to spurn them because she was not in the mood to be slapped across the face by her father telling her to focus on her school and only her school. Drogo had been persistent though; he wore her down at the beginning of the year. To the point that she was charmed and confessed why she couldn't go out with him instead of spurning him like the rest. And Drogo who was encapsulated by her agreed he would go to great lengths to make sure her father never knew that they were a couple. So she relented.
