Rhaenys
Both Missandei and her arrived at the consulate with Rhaenys holding the business proposal in her hands.
Today they would deliver it to the Blackwood's along with their tender offer.
The receptionist showed them into the conference room of the Riverland Consulate. Whilst Raventree was not the capital of the country, the forestry in the city was one she quite liked especially after living in the ever busy city of Kings Landing.
'Do you have the documents prepped in order?' Missandei asked in that calm and steady voice of hers.
Rhaenys nodded.
She had made sure to double check that she followed the index that Missandei had set out before they came. Rhae didn't want to screw up, given Missandei had her spend hours drafting the proposal and then more hours editing and checking it.
Despite her nod, Rhaenys checked the small folder bag to see if everything was fine. When she was done she saw Missandei smiling at her.
'You need to relax, it's a settlement meeting not a murder trial, it's all about negotiating' her boss stated in amusement.
The door opened before she could say anything and in stepped an elderly man. Both Missandei and her stood up to shake his hand before following him in and sitting down.
'Mr. Blackwood it's been a very long time' Missandei greeted.
The Secretary of Commerce gave her boss a genial smile.
'Please call me Tytos, besides the last time I saw you, you were sat were your assistant sits now and Daenerys would be leading the meetings' the man commented.
'Well that was then and this is now. And if we're speaking of now then I have an offer to make' Missandei stated before nodding for her to give the file over to him.
Tytos read what was inside the file after putting on his reading glasses and paged through it rather quickly.
'This is a tender offer for to purchase the land in Raventree?' Tytos murmured as he peeked from his reading glasses.
Her boss nodded.
'It is.'
'Why?' Tytos questioned.
Missandei gave him a perplexed look but still explained nonetheless.
'Well Ice & Fire want to establish a base in Raventree, a city with a steady rise in GDP is appealing for an investment' Missandei stated. 'The Lands we want are public and not private so only the government can authorize their purchase and that's why I am here. If you get this ball rolling for us then you will get a hefty compensation.'
Tytos smiled as he put down the file.
'How hefty is the compensation?' Tytos questioned.
'You see the final figure to purchase that land, ten percent of that will go into the pockets of the constituents who signed off on the deal' Missandei stated.
The man's eyes seemed pleased before he calmed himself.
'That is a fantastic offer but I am a civil servant with legislative power, taking a payout or a bribe is a breach of the constitution I signed when I took office' the man replied.
Missandei smiled with a small sigh as if she was wondering why Tytos was wasting time and not rushing to sign the offer.
'It's not a bribe, bribes are illegal. What this is, is us buying government lands at a very high rate and in our compensation package we pay something we call a "goodwill fee" towards the party initiating the deal' Missandei responded professionally.
