Rue

The ride home was somewhat quiet. Elias had fallen asleep within minutes in the car and Gia was in the front seat admiring the view and I just wanted to get home. But Luz broke my train of thought.

"I'm very happy for you, Rue." She said as she kept her eyes on the road. "You're about to start a brand-new chapter." But as soon as those words left her mouth she looked at me and gave me a little smile ensuring that everything was gonna be okay. I started looking out the window when I noticed a blonde riding a bike and I started to think about school and what was waiting for me once I stepped out this car.

It was the end of summer, the week before school started. I had no intention of staying clean. And Jules had just moved to town.

Later on.....

"There's some new girl in town that I think you gonna be friends with." My dear friend and drug dealer Fez ( Fezco is my sister's ex boyfriend and baby daddy but he knows nothing about my nephew or his existence. I can tell that my sister is still in love with him as He's in love with her. They are meant to be.) And he replied with... "Who?" I asked him looking straight at him at this point. "Shit. I don't know. She came in yesterday lookin' all Sailor Moon and shit. I'm thinking to myself like, look like someone Rue would get along with."

Which was sort of like a dead-on observation for Fezco, who's not normally revolving in the same direction as planet Earth.

He lit his cigar and asked me "So, how long you been back?"

"Five Days."

"And like how you feelin'?" He asked with some concern in his voice.

"I mean, ever since I gave my life over to my lord and savior Jesus Christ, things have been, like really good." With a serious face i reply to his dumb answer.

"Word? That's what's up."

"Well Yeah ... I'm Fucking with you, Fez... It's a Joke."

"Shit " a this point we were both laughing. "Hey, I don't judge."

At this point I tell him what I'm really here for.
"Uh but low-key is Ashtray in the back?" Simple asking him, he just gave a me are you kidding me look.
"Are you serious"

"What. You think 'cause I went to rehab, I stayed clean?"

"I mean, ain't that the point?"

"Yeah. Well, the world's coming to an end, and i haven't even graduated high school yet. And I have lots of drama at home now that My sister is back at home." and with that I walked inside acting if I can't hear fezco calling out my name but all I cared about were my pills. And as soon as I stepped out I see Nate and Fez

In In truth I didn't have much of an issue with Nate until all the bullshit with Jules. I mean I never  liked him and once during freshman formal he tried to finger  me on the dance floor with out my permission but like it's America. And if they were throwing an end of summer party...of course I'd fucking go.  And with that Nate yells out

"Yo. I'd do it .Oh hey Rue tell Elida that my mom said to come pick up Elias early cause I'm planning a party." Before I could even answer he drives off. But Fez caught me before I left .

"When did Luz come back in town?"
"I think it's been more than a month why do you care Fez?" And his face dropped when I replied to him maybe he was hoping that Luz would come see him.
"I don't care Rue."
"Sure Fez"
I started walking home again when Fez stopped me one more time. "Who's Elias?"
He was probably think that it was Luz new boyfriend or something. But I'm about to pick at his heart a little more at this moment. "My nephew..." and before he could ask me again "He is Luz's son and no she not married, she still single." And with that I finally went home but it was already dark out once I got there...

Elida

I picked up Elias from Marsha Jacobs. Rue is in the same class as her son Nate. Mrs. Jacobs agree to watch over him while I went out to look for a job. But on my way home Rue called me telling me that i has to pick up Elias early. Once we got home mom was okay pacing back and forth. Elias had fallen asleep on the way home so I cared him to our room and went back to mom. "What's wrong?" I asked her.
"Rue isn't home yet." She said with such concern and worry tone." As soon as those words left her lips. Rue walk in. "Where we're you?" Mom
Asked her trying not to cry. I heard the cracking in her voice. "I went to eat." Rue says so nonchalantly. 
"What do you mean you went to eat?" Rue started laughing at this point. "What? Don't walk away from me." Mom starts yelling.  "You know what Rue? I don't trust you." She started chasing after Rue as she went to the room  "I don't know what you want me to say."
"Rue she just wants to know where you were that's all. Right mom?" I tried my best to help mom calm down " I just said I went to fucking eat!" Rue was frustrated at this point and so was mom. "Don't talk to me or your sister like that! You know what? I'm gonna drug test you." And with that Rue slammed her door. Mom kept yelling and Gia came out of her room crying and all the  yelling woke up Elias.
"Mom what is going on?" I looked down at him. He was so tired. "Nothing sweetie Grandma is just trying to help auntie rue with something but ain't Rue doesn't want help." "But why mommy." "I don't know sweetie. I just don't know." And with that mom walks past us "that girl will be the death of me."
