·𖥸·I glanced to the side and gasped. Stood in the shadows of the hallway was the silhouette of a man. A tall ghastly man. Clutching my heart, I turned to the man and begun to laugh.
"Brother, if it were possible, you would have given me a heart attack."
The man didn't say a word.
"Brother, how long exactly do you plan on being dead and alone?"
That did it.
"I may be dead, but I am not alone." He stepped into the light, his ethereal face smiling. "I have you."
"Ahh, yes, but I do not count. Sylver have you ever heard of a thing called 'a life?'" Julian quirked a brow, hoping to provoke a further reaction.
But the man never fell. He was always too calm, too collected. It made Julian's blood boil.
"Sylvester, do you know what you need? To open the blinds, let some light in, go out more, raise a glass of o negative, snap a neck, rip a heart and just live brother." He sneered. "Perhaps even find love."
"Perhaps not." Sylver hissed, striding over and fixing the collar of Julian's blazer. "What I would like is to know where exactly you think you're going?"
"Out!" Julian smiled. "It's a crimson moon brother, do you not feel it?"
"I do, but I see no reason to go out there, especially with those hunters around."
"Specter? He's not fit to challenge me." He pushed Sylver's hands away. "You know, it's really sweet how you still worry about me, but may I remind you, I am centuries old and can handle my own."
"Worry about you?" Sylvester scoffed, grabbing his shoulder. "No, I worry about them... brother."
"Am I supposed to believe you think me capable? Oh please. Still a bullshitter, I see."
"I am also still your older brother."
"After all these years, you can't possibly be keeping count.... Brother, do assure me you have not spent a moment of your precious time recollecting the years you surpass me by." Julian shook his head in disbelief. "Silence, an unspoken admit. Great! You give a man a lifetime and he knows not what to do with it. At least one of us is not that man."
He bolted down stairs and signaled to the others that it was time.
Sylver sighed heavily above. "Fine, I worry about you."
"So do I." Julian glanced up. "You're not Special Sylvester."
"I received word that Specter's been gathering an army and they're going to be out there tonight, it's not safe," he said.
"Is the fearless afraid?"
"Yes, of you Julian. You know the humans and their persistence, and we have come too for to let anything soil our plans so please, avoid doing anything foolish,"
