I once knew a girl who's smile outshined the sun 10 times over.
Was always quick with a joke.
Was always the one to cheer you up.
You would look at her at say "wow" for your brain would seem to just freeze
Everyone would ask her how she's so perfect.
Inside her head she thought she was anything but.
You see at school that girl would always swing by someone to check up on them.
It was routine for them.
Though their answer would always be so cryptic.
One day they noticed the girl didn't swing by or that anyone knew where she was.
Then they remembered.
One thing they would always start with is how beautiful the cherry blossom tree is.
It always had them confused.
They thought "there's no cherry trees here".
Then it hit them.
That there is a cherry blossom tree or what was left of one.
They don't know the details but one is said to grow out of a withered away house on the endow of town.
Without second thought they made there way to where the tree is said to be.
When they arrived they saw the tree.
It looked as if it grew out of the middle of the house as it went through the roof.
Though it wasn't a normal cherry blossom tree they could feel it.
There was a lot of pain in this tree.
They needed to know though, to know if she was in there.
As they walked into the broken house they saw her.
She was just sitting leaning against the tree.
They made their way next to her and sat down beside them.
Never once did her eyes open from when you entered the house to when you sat next to her but you could see her chest move with every exhale and inhale.
"You know you always gave me the weirdest answer when I asked how are you" she says.
They smiled at this remark.
"Tell those you love how much they mean to you. You just may never get the chance again" she says in a saddened tone.
With that she was gone as they finally came to grips with the fact that they were truly alone now.
*outside view at school *
"Who are they talking to everyday" one girl asked creeped out.
"I don't know just don't look at him" the boy next to her says.
*days later at school*
"Now he's askin nobody where she is" the same girl says
"What'd I'd say. You can't compare him to other people" the same boy replies
*narrators view*
They were trapped in a fake reality that they didn't know about. Was it to cope, or maybe to escape the real world. One things for certain though. He truly was at that moment a dying soul under the cherry blossom tree.
