Chapter 9: Ultimatum and Risk

ACT I: ULTIMATUM...

(3rd Person POV)

Currently, in Weiss' Bedroom inside the Schnee manor, as Klein was treating Nora, Penny and Nicky, Dairoku was impatiently tapping his foot on the ground as he made multiple attempts to call Tyros, Crystal or Lucifer but none of them ever responded. He shut his scroll in frustration and gritted his teeth.

Dairoku: Damnit! Just pick your damn scrolls up!

As he clenched his fists tightly, he felt a pair of arms wrap around him. He looked down to see Celeste, embracing him tightly while looking up at him.

Celeste: They'll be alright, big bro.

Dairoku sighed before smiling and embracing her back, giving her a kiss on her forehead.

Dairoku: Yeah... You're right.

Just then, the loud song of Monstra could be heard before a blinding light shined from outside the window. As Weiss and Raiku entered the room, the former carrying some tea, they stared in shocked, Weiss dropping the tray of tea.

Dairoku: What the...?

Artemis appeared and looked at the bright light, also in shock before coming to a conclusion.

Artemis: Monstra... It's been destroyed...

Winter and Lucy lead the Ace-Ops who were carrying the bomb towards Monstra, only for a green beam to erupt from it, engulfing the entire Grimm in a magnificent blinding light and creating a massive shockwave that knocked all of them down. The Blast was so massive, that it took out many Lancers far into the city...

After everything had calmed down, the atmosphere seemed apocalyptic as the blown corpse of Monstra, slowly began to disintegrate, leaving behind massive Rib-cage like remains as a shadowy figure wielding a dual sided scythe pranced through the remains, holding the Relic of Knowledge...

Winter: Is everyone alright?

Winter asked as she, Lucy and the other Ace-Ops got up from the shockwave of the explosion.

Vine: No injuries here.

Elm: What!?

Marrow: They... They were still inside!

Marrow franticly sprinted towards the disintegrating corpse of Monstra before looking on in distraught. Winter and Lucy soon joined them, the former looking on is disbelief, while Lucy...

Lucy: Crystal...? Skye...? Octira...? Lucifer...? Anyone...?

She dropped to her knees as her eyes began to glisten from tears welding up.

Ironwood: *over comms* Target destroyed. Good work, but no time to celebrate. Return to the Academy at once. We've got another problem.

Marrow: But... *looks at Winter* That wasn't us...

Winter: Then we can tell him in person. Load it back up, we're leaving.

As the Ace-Ops loaded up the payload, Winter looked at Lucy, who was still kneeling on the ground. She sighed and walked over to her before helping her up.

Winter: Lucy, come on. We need to leave.

Lucy: ...I... I should have protected them... I should have... I'm sorry Raiku...... I'm... I'm so sorry...

Winter looked down, saddened before regaining her composure and walking Lucy and herself into the ship. She then looked back at the still shaken up Lucy.
