Chapter Six

Dakota was wide awake again.

Unfortunately, Melissa's method of sedative only worked for that day. Though she missed the sleep she got a few days ago she really didn't expect anything to change. She syill felt just as on edge as she was before.

She was reading through one of her books when her phone's music was interrupted by her ringtone, Smile by Avril Lavigne. It was specifically for Stiles. She was confused and was about to make her way to his room when she answered the phone, "Stiles?"

All she hears is heavy breathing, her brows pinch in both concern and confusion as she keeps calling his name trying to get him to respond. After a few more tries he finally makes a sound.

"D-Dakota?" He whimpers into the receiver, Dakota feels her heart fall to her stomach and her brain is instantly sent into overdrive as she's standing up from her bed feeling the itch to pace.

"Sti? What's wrong? Do you need me to come to your room?" She goes to open the door as her breathing becomes erratic almost instantly.

"I-Im not at home. I don't know w-where I am. I-I don't know how I got here. I must've been sleep walking." He stutters with a sob following after causing a wave of nausea to hit her at the thought of Stiles being in trouble.

Dakota gulps, "Okay, um can you tell me what you see?"

"I can't see anything, it's too dark. And I think there's something wrong with my—" the line disconnects and Dakota is hurrying to call him back. After hearing his voicemail about four times he called her back and she answered instantly.

"Stiles?"

"Dakota, I don't think I can get out of here. I can't move." He says frantically causing a panicked whimper to leave her lips.

"Stiles, where are you babe?" She's rushing around the room yanking jeans on and pulls a leather jacket over her long t-shirt.

"I don't know." He whimpers, "I don't know, it's too dark. I can't see much. And something's wrong with my leg. It's stuck on something. I'm pretty sure it's bleeding."

Her blood runs cold, "Stiles, how bad is it?" He goes quiet, she can't hear anything but his heavy breathing. "Sti, how bad is the bleeding?" He's still just breathing, "Stiles, are you there?" Dakota is slipping on her slip on checkered vans and making her way to his room.

She needs his scent, she needs to find him.

When she walks inside she almost didn't notice the red string, she scanned the area seeing how the string all connected to one place.
