" Annyeonghaseyo! Welcome to Seoul. Hope you enjoy your stay here." The airhostess greeted with a smile as we arrived at the Incheon International Airport. " Annyeonghaseyo! Yes we will" I replied with a smile. As we got out of the airport the I just couldn't contain my excitement. The air, the spring time filled with cherry blossoms fragrance. It's chillier as compared to where I'm from. But the weather is just so mesmerising. I was trying to take it all in at once when my sister hit me on my head and got me back to my senses. " What the hell are you daydreaming about? Come on Let's Go!" She said grinning ear to ear. She was just as excited as I was.
We got to our hotel The Intercontinental in Gangnam-gu Seoul. Thanks to Alishka's job at Samsung we could afford this trip and this stay. Part of this trip is her work trip but other than a few meetings here and there at the HQ she's free most of the time. I can explore the great Seoul all by myself during that time. It's going to be so much fun.
We got some rest, freshened up and decided to embark on our journey in Seoul. Excited I yelled at the top of my voice " Seoul - Searching ! Here we come". Alishka was glaring at me through her side eyes. " Seoul searching?! Word play?! Really? No wonder you're single." She snarled. I started laughing at my own dumb joke. " What? It was right there! I couldn't resist." I said defending my lame joke and my desperate urge to crack it. " Yeah sure. I'm gonna ignore that let's just go." Alishka chucked me off and dragged me out.
The fresh chilly air of the Seoul hit my face as I tried to take it all in. My excitement was soaring sky high making me get goosebumps all over and the cold was definitely not helping it. The bustling streets and people running about to their jobs dressed dapper as if they're on a runway. And here I was looking like an idiot wearing black turtleneck and blue wide leg jeans.

I was just in awe to see the city. So then began our tour. First of on our list was visit to the Gyeongbokgung Palace. We took a cab and reached the palace in a jiffy.
The palace was extremely marvellous. Nothing like I've seen before. The spring time cherry blossoms have made the palace and the scenery even more magnificent. It's looked like a painting. So beautiful. We went in and did all the touristy stuff possible. At around 2pm we left the palace and now we were hungry like hell so we decided to get lunch before going further on with our sightseeing. We saw a cute little place just outside the palace and the aroma of the food coming out of it just drew us towards it. Our feet automatically led us there. The cook was a sweet old Korean halmeoni. She greeted us with a big smile. We bowed and greeted her back. "Annyeonghaseyo" I and Alishka greeted. We sat inside the little restaurant and tried to order but the damn language barrier was the big problem. The whole menu was in Korean, and neither was the halemoni knowing any English. So after a lot of pondering and sign language finally we ordered two servings of Tteokbbeoki. " Tteokbboki!..... TWO...." I told halemoni showing two fingers and shaking it so that she could understand. " De" Halemoni said and again smiled and bowed and left. I and Alishka were just staring at each other blankly wondering if she actually got it or not. " Haa!" Alishka sighed. " I wish we could go to a BTS concert. We're so close yet I cannot meet my Jin Oppa!" " Oh my God. As if even if you get to meet him he's not going to hangout with you. And wait a minute isn't he like the oldest of them all, Alishka he's like almost 12 years older than you. Stop crushing over him." I said. " Shut up! Age doesn't matter in love okay?" Alishka said. " Oh god this girl. Love? Girl, he doesn't even know you exist. Just cause you came to the same city as he's in doesn't mean you'll have a lovestory" I blurted throwing out a truth bomb. " Yeah yeah! I know all that. You don't have to say. I'd still like to have a little hope" Alishka said dismissively " Alright baby sis. Whatever floats your boat." I said giving up. The halemoni showed again with two servings of tteokbbeoki. Ah! Thank god she understood and my attempts were not futile. We were literally starving. She placed the piping hot tteokbbeoki on the table. It looked delicious. The aroma itself was so amazing I just couldn't wait to dig in.
We finished our lunch and left the place. We did some more sightseeing and some shopping. Seoul nightlife is pretty amazing. We had Korean Bbq for dinner and some street food and then we returned back to the hotel dead tired.
I literally passed out the moment I hit the bed. It was a good first day in Seoul.
