The people trapped inside pounded on the truck walls, "We gotta get out of here!" They all used their strength to push on the door, but it wouldn't budge.

On the outside of the truck, Bucky struggled to get the automatic lock off the doors. Y/n flew down from the sky and joined his side, helping him to break the lock. She relieved pressure off the lock, disabling the inner mechanisms, allowing Bucky to punch the device off.

The doors burst open and the people ran out, Y/n and Bucky helped them to safety, "Be careful. I've got you,"

"Go. Go!" A man stopped in front of Bucky and shook his hand, "Thank you for saving us," Bucky smiled, he's never really been in the hero position before, "You're welcome."

Across the city, Sam flies around another rogue helicopter, Redwing checks everyone out and lands on one specific person. Sam accessed his way into the woman's headphones, "A little birdie told me you know how to fly a helicopter."

The woman looked around and saw Sam flying, she nodded quickly. Sam kept a steady pace with the helicopter, still talking to the woman, "Okay. What we're gonna do requires perfect timing. We're gonna count down from five. When we get to one, you're gonna grab the control. Okay?" She nods.

"Five... Four... Three... Two... One!" The woman jumps from her seat and grabs the controls, taking control of the aircraft. She moves into the pilot seat and jerks the wheel around, trying to level the helicopter. She pulls up on the controls and the vehicle steadies, she lets out a relieved sigh.

Sam smiles from outside, "Nice work, Ayla."

Karli watches Bucky save the hostages from one of the trucks and gets in the other truck. She hits the gas and the truck takes off.

"Help! Help!" The people inside feel the truck moving, "Somebody help!" Karli drives it to the edge of a building and she gets out, letting the truck come to a falling risk, while she makes her escape.

Bucky runs to the truck and Y/n runs over to Karli. Bucky tries to use his strength to pull the truck up, but the heavy machinery is too much for him.

Y/n fights Karli - hand to hand - only using her powers when she absolutely needs them. "Karli, you don't have to do this!"

"Yes I do!" Karli harshly hits Y/n in the shoulder, causing some sort of break or strain. With a newfound injury, Karli gets the upper hand in the fight.

Karli moves the fight to the building's edge and she pushes Y/n, causing her to fall four stories down, she breaks her fall with her abilities. By the time Y/n recovers from her fall, Karli is gone. Y/n watches as Bucky struggles with another Flag Smasher and is also pushed from the building, she catches him with a whirlpool of air.

The two watch as the truck is on the brim of falling, Bucky isn't able to reach and Y/n can't ensure the stability of her powers. The truck begins to tip over when it's grabbed from behind, John Walker keeps the fatal fall from happening, only to be pushed off the building by another person.

The truck tips, slowly falling, Captain America flies in and pushes the truck from the front, saving it and placing it safely on the ground.

People from the ground watch as Sam save the people and cheer, "Hell, yeah! That's the Black Falcon there. I tell you," the person next to the man shakes his head, "Nah, that's Captain America."

Sam flies around and lands in front of Karli, she shakes her head at him, "You of all people bought into that bullshit"

"I'm trying something different. Maybe you should do the same," she grimaces and throws down a grenade. An explosion of smoke comes up, blocking everyone's sight.

The smoke fogs the vision of Y/n and Bucky, he grabs her arm and John follows, "This way," he leads them to a tunnel and pulls out his phone, "Hey, Sharon. We're underground. We entered the tunnel on William. Heading south," he hangs up and as they walk, they see destruction around, "Looks like they split up."

Y/n and John both nod, "I'll head this way," John points to the left and walks away, Y/n starts to head forward and Bucky follows her, she turns around, "Barnes, what are you doing? You need to cover the right, Karli could be anywhere," he shakes his head, "I'm going with you, you're injured,"

"I'm fine, it's just my shoulder,"

"You could get hurt even more without me," she scoffs, "I can take care of myself," she pushes him back into a wall with her powers, being careful not to injure him, "I'm sorry, I need to do this, I need to make things right," she runs off before he can stop her.

Karli walks through the tunnel and sees a shadow, she whistles at the shadow, "Dovich? Dovich, is that you?" Sharon walks out, holding a gun, Karli quickly arms herself, "Drop your weapon, Karli. I said drop it," Karli slowly places her gun down at her side and narrows her eyes at Sharon, "I'm disappointed in you,"

"That's what I was gonna say. You know, when you came to Madripoor, you reminded me of a young me. I took you in, gave you an opportunity, and you betrayed me,"

"Because you wanted to control a world that hurt you. But I wanted to change it. I'm not interested in power or an empire. I have bigger dreams,"

"What, like this? Come back and work for me again. All of you. We can make a difference together,"

"You just want me because you need your muscle back. Without us Super Soldiers, how much power does the Power Broker really have?"

"More than you," Karli's face drops in realization, she lets out a breathy laugh, "So, you're the Power Broker. You hired Batroc to spy on me."

"Karli, you know I'm always prepared. Get outta my way. I'm done with these games."

Batroc walks to Sharon's side, Karli scoffs. Batroc and Sharon converse in French before she says in English, "I don't do blackmail," Batroc puts his hands up in surrender and walks back into the shadows, leaving the situation.

Just as Batroc leaves, Karli puts her gun back up to Sharon, Sam walks in on the two, only seeing Karli holding Sharon at gunpoint, "Sam, stay back,"

"So, what's next, huh? You kill ten this time, then, what, a hundred? Where does it end? Please, let me help you,"

"Don't try and manipulate me," she walks closer to her, "Karli, don't!" She drops her weapon and lunges at Sam, he doesn't fight back as she lands many punches on him, "I'm not gonna fight you! Karli..."

"Stay down!"

Bucky sighs and takes the right path, walking and scoping out every inch of the tunnel, he finds his way back up to the surface, running into John.

"Where's Y/n?"

"You didn't see her?"

"No,"

"She ran off before I could stop her,"

"Let's go find her then," John pulls out his phone, opening up an application, "This should lead us to them. The app says it's this way. Let's go."

"'Mercy bears richer fruit than strict justice'," John reads, "It's a great app," Bucky rolls his eyes, "Lincoln, really?"

"Great man. Great quote."

"Not when you say it."

Karli continues to fight Sam, Y/n runs into the room, "Karli!" She sees Sam beaten and bruised, she runs to his aid, "I'm not going to fight her," Sam says, Y/n nods understandingly, Karli jumps at her but Y/n doesn't move. Karli gets angry at Y/n, "Fight back! Stop it! Fight me! Fight back!"

As Y/n takes the hits, a gunshot goes off, Karli places a hand over her abdomen and falls to the ground, Sam catches her and holds her up. Y/n tears up at the dying teen, Karli looks from Y/n to Sam, she grabs Sam's hand and whispers to him, "I'm sorry."

Y/n's tears fall as Karli's limp hand hits the ground. Sam sighs in relief as well as letting his own tears come down.

I cried at this part. Also I'm being really indecisive about the next story I'm releasing hehe
