Sitting at the riverside
Facing the not-so-quiet water.
Earphone in my ears.
Listening to a repeated music.
Not minding the lyrics of the song,
But the quietly crashing waves of the river.

Looking up to the blue-white sky and lofty green bamboo,
Like they want to reach and meet each other.
Birds flying from here to different mountains
Spreading their wings freely above,
Inhaling the air that flapping through their feathers.

My body is still but my soul is wandering,
Thinking deeply than the ocean,
Asking, where this direction can lead me to?

Wondering if there is someone waiting to the edge of that road.
Sincerely offering both hands,
Widely smiling like there’s no tomorrow,
Reassuring me, it’s okay and everything will be settled.

Exactly that time I opened my eyes
All I can see are blurry images.
I felt my heart beats faster than normal
Then realized, I’m not breathing and was grasping for air.

Shouting for help, reaching for a hand,
Silently weeping with the silent noise of the water.
Enduring the loss of air.
I’m slowly drowning but before I’m totally drown,
I look up to the beautiful sky.

I feel that I’m being lifted up,
Being pulled up by someone.
I smiled wonderfully and quietly told myself,
There’s nothing to worry about now,
I know I am saved!
Right that moment, I heartily shut my eyes
And smiled sweetly.
