"But if you lead,
I will follow..."~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hanging out with the gang went from positively chaotic when Ash drove us to the apartments to really nice and fun then right back to chaotic. It's crazy to think that a small group of just four people can do that, but add a fifth person and everyone goes completely bonkers. In a tree house.
"So, Emilie. Have you ever drank before?"
I stare ahead dumbly, wondering what to say to that. I really hope they don't think my innocence is lame...
After getting here and watching Larry turn into an alcoholic, I'm just about prepared for anything. But being asked questions that only heighten my embarrassment? Well...
"Uh--" I start, only to have Larry cut me off with a gesture of his bottle of vodka.
"So you haven't," He chuckles, winking at me lightheartedly. Nice to know that my innocence is just that obvious. "If you would like to try it out-- by all means, go ahead. The option is open," He then glances between myself, Ash, Sal, and our new addition Todd. "But until then, let's get that game of twister going."
I haven't seen Sal Fisher get excited about anything yet, but he jumps onto his feet at the mention of Twister. He offers Ash a hand, one that she raises an eyebrow to at first. "Awe, thanks Sally!" She chirps, leaning up on her toes to take his hand.
At the last second, he swipes his hand away and Ash just about face plants the floor. She was barely able to catch herself and immediately looked up at Sal with a glare, desperate for answers as we all cackled at her expense.
Sal puts his hands on his hips. "One point for me. You've lost all bets and I will take your spot as Twister champion," He confidently states, moving over to the spread out Twister mat and tapping it with his foot. "Get over here, loser."
Ash reluctantly follows with a livid expression on her face. Something tells me that this is going to come back and bite Sal in the ass even though the entire thing was hilarious.
I sit out for the first round, watching Sal and Ash bend over backwards to win. Sal even tries to nudge Ash's arm to make her fall when she's in a vulnerable position. Unluckily for the blue-haired boy, Ashley Campbell is practically a contortionist and adjusted to his attempt to ground her. All she did was flip her arm around while Sal scoffed under his mask.
Ash won. Clearly.
"Alright, twister master. Prepare for your downfall!" Ash cries, pointing at me with a triumphant smirk.
A hesitant smile grows on my face. She just annihilated Sal, poor guy. I guess he had it coming though.
I have a fuck-it moment and walk over there anyway. The point of this game is to have some fun and even though Ash and Sal were crazy hot-heads two seconds ago, they did it to enjoy themselves.
"Larry," I say, just before starting the game. "Now would be a great time to try that alcohol. Surprise me," I finish my sentence while playfully glaring at Ash who also playfully cracks her knuckles in response.
Larry raises his eyebrows in smug surprise, a grin forming as he pridefully walks to a little mini fridge at the far end of his tree-house. He must be excited to have someone actually going along with his bad ideas. I mean, it can't be that bad right?
He hands me a squarish looking bottle that I immediately take a swig from. And I automatically regret it. There's some kind of awfully weird after-taste and it burns. I pride myself in my odd ability to have a high pain tolerance, but this shit is just next level.
