Chapter 4: Two weeks later......

Damien Grant writhed upon the cold ground as the full moon shone down on him like bacon as his bones popped and cracked while his muscles reshaped themselves. He grunted and groaned as he stood up on his four legs, lifting his muzzle so he can howl to the moon. 'I wasn't always like this.' he thought bitterly. 'I was human and sometimes I missed being in the city.' But his mind protested at the thought of going back his home. The place where his belonged. But couldn't go back for being what he was. A werewolf....he grunted and set off to hunt for food. His stomach growled which meant that he hadn't eaten anything since yesterday. So he set off in frantic run as he homed in on his prey....

By the end of the second week, my wound had already healed and I was back on my feet and doing the usual type of work I would do in my field of work. Angel had been cautious the following week, due to the attack that happened. But I assured him I was fine and I would be careful on my next observations of the wolf den.I had my hair pulled up high and out of my eyes so that I could see the wolves clearly. "You okay today Juniper?" Angel asked as his gaze wondered across my pale like face, assuring himself that I was alright.

"I'm fine, thank you." I answered solemnly. Then forced my attention to my camera. I took several shots with it. Then turned to the video camera, "I'm sure the wolves won't mind us being here." I murmured, then glancing up to see Angel staring.

"You know what happened the last time we...no sorry...it was you who intruded on the wolf's territory." Angel said sarcastically.

"Don't start that again." I hissed at him. "I told you that I was observing them from a distance." I said putting a little emphasis into the word.

"Well you should have been on your guard." Angel drawled sarcastically. His eyes seemed to glow like an animal but I hastily ignored him and headed outside toward the wolves den.

"Maybe coming here was a bad idea for you Angel." I said over my shoulder.

"That's where you're wrong," Angel replied as he ran to catch up with me. "I think following you was the best idea, seeming on how you can be stubborn at times."

"Stubborn?" I hissed between clenched teeth. "I don't need to be protected in the midst of my work, Angel. You of all people should know that I have a reputation to uphold and you want to try to protect me?"

"As a friend yes I should." Angel said calmly. "Someone like you should definitely need to be protected."

I scoffed and turned to finish the walk toward the den. "Well I appreciate your concern but no thanks."

I heard Angels' deep sigh as he followed me. "I'm sorry Juniper but you have to be more careful with your surroundings when I'm not here."

"Angel," I began. "You are a kind hearted guy and I love it when you're around but you need to learn that I am an independent person and need my space."

"You were always the independent type, Juniper" Angel replied. "I knew that the day I set eyes on you and became your friend."

I scoffed lightly and shook my head. "But what kind of person are you?" I asked, shifting my stance carefully.

"I'm technically the same as you. But I have a different personality and have a different structure than a female does." Angel cocked a wry grin that had a smile spread across my lips.

My lips corked up into a brief smile and I shook my head in gesture meant to be rather endearing to a male than a female. "We weren't born from monkeys you know." I said rather to cheer me up than change the common subject at hand right now.

Angel chuckled, a deep sound that had my insides turn to jelly. "My parents think we were born from apes and monkeys but I don't plus I'm surprised that you don't believe in that kind of bullshit."

"It's because people who believe in that kind of crap has religion but I don't." I replied softly. I pushed my hair from my eyes and sighed softly.

"What do you believe in then?" Angel asked, folding his arms across his chest and regarded me with his gaze.

I shook my head an answer and hoped that he would drop it. "I believe in God, yes, but I don't have religion. That's about what I can tell you for now though okay." I sighed and rubbed at my temples, wishing I had a cup of coffee to give myself a boost and in doiing so I yawned. "I completely wish we had coffee, Angel." I merely complained.

"Well we don't at the moment but we can go into town and eat something and return to the campsite after." Angel explained slowly. He ran a hand through his hair and glance at me with a slight twinkle in his eyes. "But it depends on how tired you are."

"I'm fine, Angel." I almost snapped but caught myslef before my anger overwhelmed me. " I am getting ansy so can we get going?'

"Um..." Angel hesitated and continued through a voice that has gone husky. "Sure" and gave me a calm smile that meant he was sorry.
