The sky was lit up with a warming and bright sun beaming onto the surface of Japan. Birds were singing songs and the voices of people could be heard all throughout the market. Flowers had begun to bloom on the cherry blossom trees, grass was slightly blowing within the slight breeze that had fallen onto Musutafu.
Although the day had seemed beautiful, for some it could be considered the worst day of their life. All they could focus on is what would happen next. During this time each student was trying to distract themselves before the event that would take place later in the day. For Bakugou, however, he was training. He had proceeded to blow up multiple rocks within the gym that Cementos had created for training weeks prior. Training was all he could do, he was angry, he was sad, he was frustrated, so he did what he does best, fight.
"Young Bakugou!" yelled a slim man that looked like he hadn't eaten in months. "It's time," the pain could be heard within his voice, Toshinori never thought he would have to go through something like this. He had never thought he'd live to the day to see one of his students pass before him.
Bakugou glanced up when hearing his name, "tch." He didn't want to go with Toshinori, he didn't want to go with anyone. He wanted to continue training, because he promised that he would be the number one hero, and like hell was anyone going to get in the way. Not after he promised, he swore, he was not going to break his promise, he was going to be the best of the best. Katsuki jumped from his position in front of the retired hero, the young man was wearing the school issued gym uniform for training seeing as Mei was working on improving his hero costume.
Surprisingly to Toshinori, formally known as All Might, Katsuki hadn't put up a fight to go with him. The two males proceeded to the car parked in front of the gym after Bakugou had changed into a more presentable outfit. Aizawa, a teacher and underground hero, was waiting for them in the driver's seat, his tired eyes showing that he was also not looking forward to attending today's ceremony. As they were entering the vehicle, Bakugou couldn't stop his eyes from tearing up, he knew he was going to explode with the emotions bottled up inside him, but he kept fighting it, he didn't want to show that he was weak. While the student was pondering his thoughts and trying to keep his emotions in check, the two male teachers were both concerned for Bakugou. They knew he couldn't keep this act up for too long.
Sighing, Aizawa finally pulled up to their destination, class 1-A was already there and waiting. Everyone had gloomy looks upon their face, the teachers present had a heartbreaking look upon theirs. The teacher's were trying to be strong for their students, but they knew that class 1-A would understand, they were all hurting.
Hizashi walked to Aizawa and grabbed his hand, squeezing firmly as if to say he was there for him. The group proceeded to walk along the dirt path, making their way up onto the hill. Stones littered the ground, cracked and covered with moss, the trees blew within the wind and the sky was turning into a dark blue color as the sun was setting. The angels were looking down upon them that day to present them with a beautiful night that was sure to arise. Upon reaching the top of the hill, the ceremony had begun. Bakugou had blocked it out, he was focusing on his speech that he was forced to write, he wasn't looking forward to it.
His closest friends, Sero, Mina, and Denki were sobbing, Denki had hiccups from crying so much, he would have never thought that his friend would be gone so soon, he had always lit up the room when he walked in. Denki's yellow hair had been cut to his ears as well as an undercut, his arms were filled with lightning like scars from overuse of his quirk. Mina was attached like a sloth onto Sero, both crying into each other's shoulders, whispering it was going to be okay, trying to reassure themselves and comfort one another. Mina's pink hair had pressed against Sero's face, and Sero's tape dispenser arms clenched tightly onto Minas shirt,
Aizawa cleared his throat, signalling for Bakugou to come up to start his speech. Katsuki glanced up, a flash of panic written on his face, it was gone within an instant. The hot head slowly stood up and made his way to the front of the group, his feet dragging across the ground. Bakugou clears his throat before speaking, "You're annoying, you're always getting in my way. You're always trying to make people happy, you're always trying to hang out with me. You'd ask me to help with studying even when I didn't want to. You kept me up past eight, you were always optimistic, you were such a people pleaser. I didn't like you." Katsuki pauses and takes a deep breath, his voice cracking when he starts to speak again, "Not one bit. You didn't have to try to please everyone, you didn't have to be the one to suffer. I said I would be the number one hero, and I'm going to keep that promise. For you. You always pushed me, you pushed me and no matter what, you were always by my side. No matter how many times I pushed you away, you kept coming back."
Tears began to form within his eyes, he tried to choke back a sob, but everyone heard it. It broke their hearts to see him like this, helpless. He wouldn't accept help from anyone but the one that wasn't here.
