Bakugou leaned up against the wall, placing Kirishima's head upon his lap, he sighed. For once, he didn't know what to do within this moment, he was clueless, he pondered, did he do the right thing, could he have done more to help his friend. "Hey, remember that time-" Kirishima was interrupted with a fit of coughs, dark red blood erupting from his mouth. Bakugou quickly took off his shirt and cleaned Kirishima's mouth off.
"Don't talk, save your energy, you'll need it." Katsuki replied coldly, staring intently at the wall. He looked down at Ejiro, his eyes softened, he was hurting, he shouldn't be an ass, but he didn't know what to do to help.
"I know we don't have much time," Ejiro replied slowly, taking breaths in between each word so he could prevent another round of extreme pain interrupting within his chest. "It never gets easier does it Katsuki? I've tried so hard, to be a man, to be a hero, but it wasn't enough. I don't know who I'm supposed to be, I've tried to stay strong." Ejiro starts to cough but holds it back as well as he can so as to not spit blood into Katsuki's face. "But you were always pushing yourself, to become better, nothing stood in your way. Well one thing did." He pauses, "you don't have to hold it all together, because I, I am so proud of you. You're one of the best things that has happened in my life." He pauses to take another breath to try and control the blood that's threatening to come up his throat.
"Hey shitty hair, stop with all this bullshit. I've let you ramble on for too fucking long. You're not dying today so stop acting like it. You're going to be fine, okay? You're the manliest man I have ever met and you're always encouraging others to do their best. I've pushed myself because I want to be at the top, don't act like you haven't pushed yourself either. I've seen you working everyday after hero training. So for the love of God stop degrading yourself, you're starting to act like that low life Deku. You're better than him, you're better than me." Katsuki's voice softens as he speaks more to Ejiro. He starts to brush his crimson hair back, running his fingers down his scalp, coaxing Ejiro's body to relax. "Get some rest now, I don't want you to waste your energy, you need it now more than ever." He smiled down upon the rock boy and looked into his eyes, reminiscing this moment together. Katsuki took this time and started to memorise every feature of the Kirishima boy, implanting it into his mind, making sure he would never forget.
Ejiro closed his eyes, relaxing with his head resting upon Katsuki's lap, his tense body no longer. "Kat's, promise me," Ejiro paused, slowly opening his eyes to look at the perfect man before him, trying to form the words, "promise to be the best, be the best version of yourself." With Ejiro's eyes still locked onto Katsuki's face, he grabbed onto his hand and squeezed it as firmly as he could.
"I-I promise Ejiro," the explosion boy replied, his eyes tearing up,he watched as the red eyes that were once gleaming into his own slowly faded dull. Tears began to pool down his dirty face, staining him with sweat, blood, and smoke.
Ejiro could hear the muffled voice of his crush and best friend, he could feel himself slipping into the darkness that was fading into his vision. He wished he had more time, he wished he could say more. He wished he would have said, 'I love you Katsuki Bakugou.'
