♪ I met her on the way to Chicago. Where she was all alone, so was I so I asked her for her name. She smiled and looked at me I was surprised to see, that a woman like that was really into me. She said she didn't have no man raised her kids the very best she can. She told me she was all alone she said at home she didn't have no phone. She said just to give her a page fifty-nine was the code she gave, She lie to you. She lie to me. Cause she was lovin' me, lovin' me ♪
Hell must have frozen over, and time had to have stood still. Michael was revealing the premise of their relationship to everyone in this ballroom. He pointed out in the audience as he belted out each lyric observing Thomas's reaction. Giselle sat there reposed and heartbroken as Michael sung. The anger in his voice, the hurt in his eyes was just too much to bear. Had she altered his heart that much, and if she did it meant only one thing--he was still very much in love with her. Was there hope? Did she see a glimmer in his eyes, or was it his final closure? He had to want her still, and if he did leaving Thomas was the only way this would work. Giselle bit into her lip and tears cascaded down her cheeks as the song ended. The audience gave a standing ovation and Michael and the band went on to do the next song. Giselle remained shocked finally turning slightly catching her husband's stares. He was angry and probably just as wounded was Michael from her lies. Thomas slid his hand next to hers and just as he was about to stroke her skin she rushed away from the table nearly knocking a tray of wine glasses on the floor that the waiter was carrying. She ran until she reached the ladies room where she stilled completely and then burst out into tears. She covered her mouth muffling her sobs when she heard the toilet flush in the first stall. She ran into the empty stall at the other end of the bathroom and eased down on the toilet seat. All she could think of was those lyrics Michael sung and the look in his eyes when he said them.
Michael had finished his half an hour performance. The night had been quite positive for him and his band mates. He smiled, shook hands, received pats on the back and been given many praises for his song and overall performance. He' d smile, but his mind raced with thoughts of Giselle. He pondered if he'd hurt her by revealing this song to her husband. He didn't get joy out of his reveal. He pained --it was awful for him, too, but it had to be done. Once and for all Thomas needed to respect that his wife connived her way into Mchael's heart, and manipulated him between her legs. There was one last pat on his shoulder and small hands covered his eyes. A soft guess who was rendered in his ears then he called her name and she hugged him. It was Stella, the lead female singer in the band. She stood there staring at Michael offering him a night cap with her eyes before he went home.
"Rain check? I have a few things I need to clear up. Maybe tomorrow." He told her. Giselle stood a short distance off observing them. They were close and her hands rested on Michael's chest. A chest that Giselle had laid on, kissed on and loved. Giselle found herself jealous wanting to confront, Michael, but just as she pivoted her foot, Michael glanced forward noticing her. He smiled at the tall blonde who just sung a duet with him on stage. It was obviously something funny he said because she giggled, leaned forward and kissed his cheek. She said just a few more words then waved bye as she walked away. Giselle stood there anticipating her words she would say to Michael. She had to speak from her heart it was the only way. She walked a short distance and finally she was face to face with the man she's lied to for months.
" Already moved on." She winced out.
"You shouldn't be here." He said simply.
" Michael" She scoffed dropping her eyes. " I'm in so much pain. I need you to hear me out. Hear my side of everything." she finally looked back up and into his eyes.
"You want to tell the truth now when you could've been honest with me. I never lied to you." Michael stared at her.
"Michael I never lied about loving you. I meant those words." She shook her head making gestures with her hands.
