His first appearance is at the beginning of the series in multiple tapes where it is shown that he is the main character for Marble Hornets. Marble Hornets is a YouTube web series inspired by the Slender Man online mythos.
The first video was posted on YouTube on June 20, 2009. It was one of the first webseries to be created around the character, with the first episode premiering exactly 10 days since the appearance of the original images of Slender Man on the Something Awful forums.
Hoodie is diagnosed with Intermittent explosive disorder, and will burst into rage with very little verbal or physical provocation.
That stated, those who seem to break through his barriers are often trustworthy to him, and will be defended to extreme lengths. He has extreme loyalty to those who gain his trust, though his cold personality is not spared from them. Brian seems to have no fear- or rather, doesn't react to fear, at the least. His actions seem to be inable to be influenced by fear.
He does have fears as a human does, but has not awknowlaged it or been influenced by it since his joining as a proxy.
Hoodie is seen wearing a light brown hoodie. He is also seen with a face mask with a red frown. He can sometimes be seen with denim jeans. Hoodie's true name is Brian Thomas.
