Elena's POV:

Once Mr. Russo had invited me inside, we began walking through many different halls. I didn't know where he was leading me, but as we kept walking I couldn't help but look around the house.

The walls were a cream colour, with large windows on the right side that looked over the property. On some of the walls, portraits hung up of people, some older some younger. The floors were white and grey marble that looked like they had just been shined. When passing many different rooms, I had saw the furniture were either a light or dark grey, maybe some black. The sunlight shining through the windows made everything seem so open and light. It almost seem like a modern castle.

As we walked up to two grand doors with gold handles, I heard talking inside. I couldn't hear what exactly was happening but it sounded like heated conversation.

The doors were soon opened but Lorenzo, he was walking in with so much confidence. I soon walked in right after, emanating power, I glanced around the room seeing multiple different people sitting around a circular table, around 20 different pairs of eyes, all on me. There was only two other women there while the rest were men, radiating danger.

I sat down in an empty seat looking around the table, I then stopped at a set of eyes right across from me. They were a dark pool of ocean blue, they were so dark yet, so intriguing. It was like I could get lost for hours just staring at them.

Mattheo's POV

I was pissed. Pissed about the war and how my father called in help when I didn't want it.

The leader of the Spanish mafia was arriving soon and I was not excited. They may be our best and most trusted allies, but I didn't need the help.

I've never met the leader, but word has it he's ruthless. My father hasn't told me anything about the leader, just that their not one to mess around with. I was seated at the meeting table waiting for everyone to get here so we could start the meeting. "non ho mai voluto aiuto è una tale stronzata" ( I never wanted help, it's such bullshit) I spit harshly, "abbiamo bisogno dell'aiuto se vogliamo abbatterli" (we need the help if we want to take them down) Nate speaks, I swear if he wasn't my best friend, I would have killed him for talking without permission.

"ho detto che puoi parlare? potresti essere il mio migliore amico ma" ( did I say you can talk? You may be my best friend but-) I was cut off from the door opening, my father came in, taking a seat next to me.

What I hadn't excepted was a woman to walk in next, she had so much confidence in her walk, she must be the Spanish mafia leader. That's a surprise. When she sat down on the opposite side of the table, I couldn't help but look into her eyes, they were so intriguing. One was a bright dazzling blue, but the other was a dark chocolate brown. I had never seen eyes like hers, it was like her eyes showed light and darkness.

She was staring back into my eyes, studying them. Just as I was studying hers.

"Now that everyone is here, let's get started"

The meeting was going well, there weren't any disruptions. Well, until someone's phone rang, "Who is stupid enough not to silence their phone" as if I wasn't pissed before, I sure was now. Meetings are important, personal lives are for after.

"Qué? En una reunión importante, es mejor que alguien se muera, joder." (What? I'm in an important meeting, someone better be fucking dying). It was her, of course. She was speaking in Spanish and sounded really pissed off with whoever she was on the phone with. All I did was stare at her. She had a cold expression and didn't say anything more, then hung up the phone.

She looked at me and nodded once, signalling for me to continue. As enraged as I was I continued the meeting.

Elena's POV

That phone call really pissed me off, it was just about the shipment coming in. Nothing worth my time at that moment, so I hung up the phone. I could tell Mattheo was livid, but I didn't care.

After the meeting, I was one of the last people in the room. As I was about to walk out, someone cleared their throat. I turned around seeing Mattheo giving me a cold look, "May I help you?" I said in an innocent tone. "Next time keep your phone on silent, or is that to hard for you?" He questioned, he really has the nerve to talk to me with disrespect.

"Considering the fact that I am away from my home and the people that matter most to me, who are also in this lifestyle, I can not protect them. I make sure I answer every call." I kept eye contact saying every word. As I was finishing explaining I turned my body around once again. Just as I was about to leave I turned my head to look at him still standing there, "And next time don't talk to me with disrespect, I don't tolerate it" and with that, I walked out.
