Elena's POV
No words were said on the drive home. It angered me to think that Mattheo doesn't believe I can handle being in the mafia business. But I don't need his opinion on how I do my job.
As we pulled into my property, the gates automatically opened and we drove into the driveway. Getting out of the car, I waited till Mattheo was beside me to walk in.
Opening the double doors I was greeted with the welcoming sent of home. I then turned to Mattheo "I'll show you around, there is one rule which will be followed" I walked in and started going up one of the two staircases. From the other side of the stairs you could see the living room.
"Any rooms with the door open you are allowed to go inside. But some doors stay closed and you are not to enter. That mostly involves two rooms, my room and my fathers office." I told him. No one is allowed in my fathers office expect me.
"My mother also lives here, so don't be surprised if she asks continuous questions" I kept showing him around, he didn't ask any questions so I'm guessing he respected my rules.
"This is your room. You can start unpacking once we're done" I said. He looked around the room while I stayed by the door, waiting until he was done. As he was looking around the room he finally spoke "you said your mother lived here, why doesn't your father?"
I didn't say anything. I couldn't. After what had happened to my father, I made sure that no one knew what happened."Are you done looking so we can continue" he turned to look at me and nodded. He didn't ask anymore questions for the rest of the tour.
"Make yourself at home" I told him. As I walked away, I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding.
I was heading to my fathers office to get some old files. I did have my own office, due to me not wanting to get rid of anything that involves my papá.
Walking into the office my mood changed. It was like all the memories of me and my father came flooding back to me.
Quickly grabbing the files, I walked out and closed the doors. Going back into my room I put the papers on my dresser.
Laying down on my bed, I couldn't help but think back to when I was a child. God life was so easy, I have no clue why I wanted to grow up so fast. Growing up sucks when you see the world for it's true colours.
Getting up from my soft silk sheets, I decided to take a shower and clear my head.
Opening the glass door, I started the shower. Then went back to stand in front of the mirror. Looking at myself I couldn't help but smile, after everything I've been through, I no longer pointed out all my insecurities. I learned to love them, my stretch marks, my smile, the different colours in my eyes, I love it all now.
Taking off my clothes, I opened the glass door and stepped into the shower. I let the hot water run down from my hair, to my back. By the time I started washing my hair, all the glass walls of the shower were fogged up.
Turning off the shower, I opened the now fogged up door and grabbed my towel. Wrapping it around me, I opened the door that separated the bathroom from my room.
As I walked out of the bathroom I heard a knock on my door. Walking towards it I opened it just enough for me to lean on the other door that was closed while the other side was on the right side of myself.
"Is there something you need?" I asked Mattheo, he didn't say anything, all he did was look me up and down. "You done looking?" I asked. Yet again no words came from his mouth.
I was starting to get annoyed. Scowling at him I went to close the door. Just as the door was about to be closed, he put his foot in between he doors stopping it.
