The next day, the 3 friends had a blast. Between horse-back riding, kayaking, and a beautiful bike trail, they had barely any time to rest. It was a long day, but a fun one.
As they were walking back to the cabin, Mrs. Williams called everything together for an announcement.
"Before we go to dinner, there is something I need to discuss with you all. It has come to my attention that a lot of bad weather is coming tomorrow. All of our activities are cancelled for the sake of everyone's safety. We can play inside until the storm passes." A collective groan overtakes the room.
"This is supposed to be Camp Summer Fun, not camp, sit inside and do nothing!" A boy said from the crowd.
"It's not her fault the weather is bad." Violet replied to the boy.
The kids walked back to the cafeteria, a little disappointed but excited to get to bed after their long day. After they woke up, a big storm was occurring outside, as Mrs. Williams had predicted. They weren't surprised, but still disappointed. Everyone went to get torches and first aid kits from the supply shed, and then food and water from the cafeteria.
"Everyone, to the main room!" They heard Mrs. Williams shout.
They walked to the main room and gasped. There were board games, snacks, and blankets laid out all across the room. "Take your pick of an activity! This is the best we can do for now, but we hope you'll enjoy it." One of the camp workers says with a smile.
The kids all sprint to the stations and begin their games. Violet, Sam, and Lilly head over to the Monopoly board and choose their pieces. Suddenly, a big boom comes from outside and a huge lightning strike is visible outside the window. Mrs. Williams calls for everyone's attention. "I would just like to inform you guys that the storm should be over within the end of the day. We should be able to return to our intended plan for tomorrow if nothing is damaged in the storm."
The day goes by in a blur, and suddenly it's night time and everyone is heading back to their rooms.
"Today was unexpectedly fun!" Lilly says on the way back.
"It really was. The snacks were great." Sam added.
"You and your snacks." Violet said with an eye roll. The three laugh as they walk to the bedrooms and eventually fall asleep.
