Chapter 5
“We must be willing to let go of the life we planned so as to have the life that is waiting for us.”
- Joseph Campbell
Amara
"Okay, this is the hardest part. We need to pick one!" Alice said, dumping about fifty or more DVDs in front of me.
After Alice and Kajal got here, we decided to have a movie night, so we gathered all pillows and blankets, and I meant all of them, in the TV room. I know that they're doing this to cheer me up, but what really satisfies me is the fact that they didn't talk or ask about the accident at all. Most girls always feel like they need to know everything that's going on in their best friend's life, but not Kajal and Alice. They're like my- brothers.
"How about Iron Man?" Kajal asked, pulling her dark brown, slightly wavy hair into a ponytail.
"Robert Dawny Jr. is a legend, but I'm not in the mood for that right now" I said, pressing my lips together.
"The Hunger Games?" Alice asked, looking at me. I shook my head without even considering her suggestion. It's not that I hate The Hunger Games. It's just that somebody's going to die in that movie. I need to watch something cool. Something crazy and strange and awkward. Something like-
"Me and My Dick!" I slap the floor with a wide grin.
"What?" Kajal asked in confusion. Perfect.
"It's a Starkid musical-"
My phone buzzes, interrupting my explanation. I picked it up from the floor and answer it without even looking at the caller ID. Probably some relatives who want to know how I'm dealing with the lost.
"Hello?" I said, throwing a pillow at Alice randomly, earning a glare from her.
"Hey Amara! It's me! Your momma!"
"What do you want Louis?" I asked after letting out a light chuckle.
"I want you to open the door and let your momma in" Louis mumbled. Wait, he's here?
"Oh?" I said, looking over at the girls.
"Just open the freaking door!" Louis shouted before he hung up.
I walked out of the TV room, leaving the girls sitting there in confusion. I walk slowly as possible, knowing it would piss Louis off. I smile at that thought. I mean, I didn't ask him to show up at my front door or anything, so it's entirely his fault. I paused when I reached the front door and fold my arms on my lower chest. I can imagine Louis standing there, getting irritated, I smile at that image.
"What took you so long?" Niall asked, walking in as soon as I opened the door.
"Please, come in" I said, sarcastically. I slammed the door shut after Louis and Zayn stepped into the house.
"So?" I asked, looking at three of them.
"We thought that we should keep you company. I'm sure you don't want to be left alone in this-" Zayn stopped, checking out the house.
"thing" he exhaled. He looks way better now than before. Still wrecked, but at least his eyes are not bloodshot anymore.
"Can I live here?" Niall asked dreamily, hugging the walls.
"Sure, why not" I said after letting out a light chuckle.
"As much as I love to stand here and talk to you guys, why don't we go to the TV room? We're having a movie night" I continued when I realised that that's the only way to stop Niall's awkward hugging session with the wall.
